Congrats on landing a job in, what I beleive, is one of the nicest areas in our state and probably the entire upper midwest.

I worked up here in 1980 with the YCC (Youth Conservation Corps). The fishing up here can be pretty good especially in some of the lakes that cannot be accessed by road. If you get a chance try to fish a lake called Mukooda (I don’t think that’s spelled right). The Smallmouth fishing was nothing short of amazing, crappies were 2lbs ish and I was told that there, at that time, was a state record walleye in there.

As far as Muskie, there is one lake in the penninsula (that area between, Rainy, Namakan and Kabatogama) that is stocked with Muskies.

    Good Luck and enjoy.

Ps. – By the way, bring lots of bug repellant.

    Minnetonka has turned over.

Aquaview camera w/ temp sensor shows the temp at 20′ is the same as the surface temp in multiple parts of the lake.

We have been going through this global warming thing since the last glacial period some 10,000 yrs ago. I guess the media needs to hype something or they have nothing to generate a frenzy. At least, when I was growing up, we only had to worry about the Russians and how fast we could “duck and cover”.

Until then, eat all the walleye you can because they’ll all be gone soon.

    Good Luck!

I’ve have my rig insured thru State Farm. There policy provides “all risk” coverage to the boat, motor and trailer. You can also endorse the policy to included equipment.

    Good Luck!

The land that the access is on is actually private land. The land owner granted easment for public access for several years until it was too difficult for the city and county to patrol and keep clean.

Nearest access now is either Hastings public access or St Paul Park.

    Good Luck!

I’ve had great luck w/ Wells Fargo Bank on the past couple of new boats I’ve purchased. It certainly wouldn’t hurt to check them out.

    Good Luck!

Roy and his staff are a great group of people to work with. They ran the BASS Series last year with the utmost professionalism I have seen since the MN Pro/Am Series.

I agree, let’s fight the terrorist over here. Maybe, if we give them some hug therapy we can change the way they think.

Go to the MN DNR web site. Then go to State Parks. You can book reservations on-line at either Father Hennepin or Milacs Kathio, both of which are on the southern end of the lake. And yes, they do have electric sites and showers too.

    Good Luck.
