I believe the 2d Transducer is running at 200khz the new Garmin used much higher frequency. I actually just recieved my new Garmin 93 today. I am going to leave my older Humminbird on for the lake master maps. It only has a 2d transducer as well.
The only real difference is prop size. I personally like the idea of a larger prop which will give you less slippage. The T model will spin a 13″ prop instead of a 10″ prop. The prop will spin slower but will also be able to turn a higher pitched prop. I don’t think you will notice much difference on a 165 as that isn’t a terribly large boat. How much of a deal are they giving you though? I wouldn’t hesitate either way.
I just sold my 2005 Lund and sold it for $1300 less than I bought it for new. Crazy!!
Anyone try the Balzout mounts? I am looking for a good dual graph mount for my older Lund Pro V. Other option I have seen is to have 2 large ram mounts independantly. Looking to either attach to the floor so it would need to be elevated, or from the side Gunnel.
Hey great info. I just ordered a 93 with the GT56 ducer. I have a humminbird to fun the lakemaster maps, but just couldn’t part with the extra $400 for the helix 9. I am excited to test the Garmin out.
Super Cat yes I get what you are saying. Mine is solid. I Have splash guards which stops most of the water from coming over the splash wells. The boat only has 113hrs on the motor so that shows how little use it really has. It has been a garage queen so really not much chance to rot. Thanks for your input though.
Anyone run the 2 cylinder 60 hp How do they idle down for trolling?
I forgot to mention I have a Yamaha 115 4 stroke. No the transom is not rotten. The boat has very little use and has been stored inside. If I was buying a single console boat it would be the one I would want. Only seen rain a handful of days and not much rough water as I usually fished smaller lakes.
Thanks for letting me know on the book price that is why I asked the question. I have seen several similar boats for as much or more than that. I guess I will try a bit high and see how it goes. Thanks for input!
Did you get out and try it before freeze up? I saw it on Youtube and am very interested…
I am in the same situation only I want to go from a single console to a tiller. My question is how to price the boat? Is the NADA value about right a little more or a little less for those that have sold in the last year any advice?
I got a hold of them. When I tried the 1 800 number it didn’t work but their local number did thanks!
I love my Leopold Ultimate slam. I have it on a Savage 220 but it is designed for long range slug guns and Muzzleloaders. I love it!
I purchased my lund back in 2005 in from Rapid Sport in Ham lake. I didn’t think they were too bad. Honestly only bought from them because they had the best deal for a lund. I actually liked Nelson Marine better, but Rapid had the same boat for less money. With that said, there are many awesome boats on the market right now. I love my explorer, but I can’t say if I was in the market I would not buy something else. Good luck on your purchase!
Have Fun! I booked my first ever trip to Canada this year for the week of June 23rd. I severely injured my knee at work on March 6th. Had to cancel as I am still in a wheel chair with limited Weight Bearing status. I got to keep my leg so it could have been worse. Enjoy the heck out of your trip for me!!
Enjoy the fishing!! I severely injured My knee March 6. And though the healing is going good. It will be atleast another month before I can get in a boat again. So when you get out enjoy the hell out of it for ME!!
Check with Strikemaster. Honestly I would look for the steel lazer set up way more rugged. I had it on my strike lite 2 before upgrading to the Honda lite. Good Luck
How long you talking… Like a week wouldn’t be too bad between houses. Just the two of you or the whole family? if we are talking for a month or more, that would be an interesting sell to the wife.
Ill give the Anti glare stuff a try. I like the Black Background the best. When I was out on Saturday I had the sun on the back of the unit. Don’t get me wrong I could see it, just not as bright as I would have liked on the Sunny day. Cloudy its plenty bright.
How deep you fishing. Walleyes have been hitting well later in the day in shallow. Like 11 fow. Good luck
Very Nice clip. I bought the quick fish 3I and used it for the first time this weekend when I took a boy scout troop fishing. It was toasty warm for the boys even without the heater on, temps were around 10 outside. It is my back up house, or a spare. At under $200 I couldn’t pass it up. It is also nice if I want to take my car vs my truck. Again very nice video thanks for sharing.
I have a Yamaha F115 on a Lund Explorer 1700. The SS prop I bought is night and day difference to the Stock Alum. that came with the boat. I ran the boat a bit with the Stock 19p when I first bought it to get a feel for what Pitch I needed, for how I run my boat. I bought a Michigan wheel 18p SS and wow what a difference. The hole shot is way better, as is top speed. It also stays locked up in waves a hole and in corner a lot better, not to mention the additional bow lift. With that being said. When I take a trip to a rock area like Canada, the Stock Alum. will be on.
I have a 1 yr old Honda Lite so I won’t be in the market for a long while. With the high praises I have for my 56volt Ego Mower and snow blower. No doubt my next auger will be an electric. No Gas, No carbs, no noise, what’s not to love
Steel Rusts, Aluminum doesn’t. Cost is a factor also as aluminum is more expensive.
I own the Strike lite II and have used it a lot in the last 3 or 4 years. I love it however it does have a few drawbacks. I would take a Honda lite in a heart beat if I could sell and buy for not much difference. The reasons stated by Joel and James are spot on. But again, I would suspect the Strike lite is worth about $350 and we are talking $575 for a new Honda. To me it just isn’t worth it. The Robin is a great little engine as well. Good Luck!!
