Be careful going across rough water with the quick release bracket…I was going across Mille lacs the other day and it came out of the cradle and luckily it bounced into the boat and not into the lake.

Anybody known if Duralast batteries are made by Interstate? I went to autozone today and picked up a 29 deep cycle and the guy that worked there said they are.
I’ll be mounting 2 ducers Garmin 73sv and an elite 5hdi…so I’m thinking mount the Garmin to the right of the row of rivets next to where the paddle wheel is now, then the elite 5 to the right of that then the paddle wheel to the right of that…Then I shouldnt have any blockage.
Not sure why it won’t let me post the pics with the original post.
The black lines are where rows of rivets are…I want to mount it to the right of that paddle wheel, but that paddle wheel would block the side imaging correct??
Also anyone have the best way to fold the vinyl on the corners…This is way the way I plan on doing it.
Well hopefully the boat will be all done by the weekend…The vinyl should be here Wednesday, that’s the only thing I’m waiting on…I’m going to cut the one big piece of the floor so I can fit it in without taking the console out and just so its easier. My plan is to cut it bow to stern, does anyone recommend cutting it a different way…I think this way will look the best. The dotted line is where I plan on cutting, the port to starboard side dotted line was my other way I thought of cutting it, the seem would be hidden under the storage boxes that way. Figured I’d post a picture on here to see if anyone that’s done it before has any better way they did it…Thanks for the input
I ended up finding a steal on a 80lb terrova so that made my mind up for me…My old motor is a 55lb v2… It’s got a 96 115 merc
Because I already bought the wood… I didn’t think of it at the time…I’m not going to waste precut wood that I already have.
How long should I expect the new marine plywood to last if I don’t epoxy it? I’m trying to decide if I should epoxy it or not since it was relatively easy to get the floor out…It’s not about money, I’ve just been reading that it has to be really warm for the epoxy to cure correctly and I don’t have a heated garage. The boat will be covered at all times and stored indoors for the winters.
Day 2 finally got the dang livewell out, the rest of the floor out, and it all vacuumed out. Now time to get the vinyl and put the new floor in.
I’m thinking of starting this project soon…Just curious as to what I’m in for…Do you have to take out the consoles, live well, and all that to replace the floor? Also would you guys recommend using rivets or screws to secure the deck down? I plan on wrapping the pieces in vinyl, then securing the floor down.
Thank you so much Cal, that must be it…I’ll try that out when I get home.
Ya, I shut that off…The green in the pictures is when I had the depth shading on.
If your using plastics and they don’t hit a horizontal bait try switching it up to a vertical presentation like a shrimpo style…Had this happen to me a couple weeks back wouldn’t hit my minnow profile plastic, so I threw a shrimpo style on and they were just crushing it… Also a big tip make sure your knot is sitting right so the bait is sitting how it’s supposed to be sitting (horizontal/vertical). I usually keep switching if 2 fish come up and say nope…I have like 5 rods prerigged with all different presentations. I hate tying on the ice haha
It’s just something different to fish with, your not gonna catch anymore fish with one…I bought an eagle claw one and never use it because I don’t trust the drag at all…I’ll stick with my Sedonas,Siennas and 13 spinning reels.
Does anyone have any ideas as to why some lakes are like that? A lake I fish in the summer is considered the dead sea in the winter. I don’t get why haha
Get the Marcum vx-1 or the ice 35, cheaper than an fl-8 and you get a zoom (I think the 35s have zoom.) Flashers are very simple to use, I dont know how people fish without them.
Aaron any idea how long that stuff will last?? That would definitely be the easiest
I have an Otter cottage 650 and i love it when I’m moving around a lot. Its fairly light and you can fit 2 people in it. I also have an eskimo fatfish 949i and I like that if I’m going to be in one spot for a while. You can fit 3 people in it and it’s really roomy for 2 people.
Get Frabil gloves, Clam gloves are crap imo… I use frabil task gloves and the Frabil snosuit mittens when its really cold.
They have sales on all sorts of steel shot, their regular prices are way cheaper than everywhere else anyway.
Bought a case of Blackclouds for $129 after my $50 rebate that’s an awesome deal.
I have a 92 Lund Rebel with a 40hp mariner on it I have been pondering putting up for sale….Motor runs great with a 55pd powerdrive w/ipilot.
This has been probably one of my best ice season, for #s at least…I didn’t fish walleyes much because I figure I fish them a lot in the summer, so I stuck to pannies…The crappies have been biting almost everywhere I’ve went it seems, most in that eater class with 13″ being my biggest so far…This has been the winter for big gills for me, I think I’ve got 10 over 10″ I believe….Gills are my new favorite to ice fish for, well except lakers….
