Isn’t James getting a discount to fish out of his Skeeter MX 2025? I would think Skeeter would make that an exclusive deal if not shame on them and what a mistake.

I have one full season in my new MX1825 under my belt. My previous boat was a 2002 Lund Angler 1700ss. That boat had a tremendous layout for muskie fishing in terms of front and rear casting decks and live well size.
Now on to my impressions of the MX 1825, the first thing I noticed coming form aluminum is the tremendous foot that the Skeeter has in the water. No getting blown all over creation on windy days. I confess to constantly watching the forecast for wind direction and speed when I owned the Lund. I don’t even consider the wind anymore. That means more hours fishing and more fish in the boat. The second best aspect of the 1825 is the cockpit space, there is a ton of it. Multiple tackle boxes and coolers all over the place that never get in the way. I laugh when I hear people debating from casting deck space. Who stands anywhere but right up against the bow of the boat? Why do I need a basketball court behind the small area in the front where I fish? Finally and most obviously, the ride in big waves will have your back thanking you for years to come. I am not afraid to admit a mistake or call out a terrible product purchase I have made. The MX 1825 is the best fishing tool I have ever owned, period.
He all but promised to fish for a species with teeth and did no such thing. If you appreciate people misleading you I am sure you loved the episode. Me not so much.
Was the boat show worth it in your opinion? Amazing that these manufacturers don’t have every single model at the boat show. It is hard to take quite a few of them seriously.
Eric, could you take some better pictures of the step ladder for the MX1825?
Thanks
This must be the trailer ladder for the MX1825.
Looks more like a ladder and looks to have the u-bolts placed closer together.
Eric, are sure those exact steps will fit a 2012 MX1825 trailer? There is nowhere near enough room under the winch on the post on my trailer. It is the same winch post on all the MX1825 trailers I see on the SBC site. I hear there is a different model for the MX1825 as opposed to the MX2025.
This is the winch post I have on my trailer. Sure doesn’t look like enough room under the winch to mount the above pictured steps.
Bummer, I just realized that the winch post on my MX1825 doesn’t give me enough room to mount the steps.
SkeeterVMAX,
If it isn’t to much trouble I would love to see some pics.
Happy New Year!
That’s the thing, I am considering purchasing an HDS-7 gen2 and would rather not have to buy all new chips.
I guess when I heard the opener might be moved up a week I had only one question. Will this have a negative impact on the fish? This year based on the early spring the answer is certainly NO it will not. If you are a true sportsman and outdoor enthusiast that is really all that should matter.
Anyone having a problem with the opener being moved up this year is being selfish, plain and simple.
I realize the proposal wasn’t based on a scientific reason. The idea of the opener being left alone based on, let’s call it “tradition” is just plain stupid. Tradition is just another word for continuing to do something foolish only because that is what has always been done.
I see the resort owners and those with plans don’t like it, why because you’ll have to work harder. Cry me a river. They are willing to hand you another week of business and you are complaining, DUMB.
Schara’s article was a joke and totally self serving in every way. The opener should certainly be a moving target. The DNR should announce it every year based on the spawning progress of the fish season in question. It may have to be later some years, so be it. This should be totally based on science and nothing else.
The 4th amendment is already in place to prevent this sort of BS. Why do I have to go to the legislature? Follow the law and stop try to control everyone.
So I pull all the weeds off my boat then bleach it and dry it for 5 days and then when I swing by Lake Minnetonka to pick up a buddy for a trip to Brainerd or Alexandria or Leech I am then subject to an inspection. Complete nonsense.
NO one here is in favor of spreading AIS.
The fact is some people are willing to trample all over your rights to get it done and that is where I draw the line.
Pretty simple stuff really.
Grouse_dog Judgemental much? You make me laugh my arse off. Based on your location it’s not hard to figure out whose side your on. Just how much control are you willing to hand over to the government? My guess, all of it! Because how could the government ever be wrong. You probably think FREEDOM is overrated. This is how it starts. Then one day you have to call a gov’t hotline to see if it’s ok to take a shower and your wondering “How did that happen?”.
Uptown selfrighteousness!!!!!!
Are they legal? Only if the see you leave a known infected lake and fail to pull your drain plug or remove any weeds. if you pull out of your driveway with a bone dry boat and get pulled over and hour later on 94 in Rodgers no way in he!! is that legal. They need probable cause. DUI checkpoints are illegal and in most all situations so are these. I predict it will go to court and won’t last long.
mossydan, it has everything to do with invasive species and will it actually do any good? probably some but not much.
Not to mention the bunk carpet is saturated with water. Who knows how many eggs are clinging to that carpet.
1)close the barn door once all the animals are already out
2)Illegeal search without cause
There will certainly be a blog website or a twitter feed with the location of all the checkpoints and the appropriate detours. Catch us if you can boys.
Only a matter of time before a lawsuit gets this thrown out.
You were still the first but it was in fact a stock color scheme. Laser red with sterling silver. Similar to the test drive boat but a sharper red and a shiney silver. As you all know pictures never do the colors justice.
The target price was $27,500 at 2011 pricing levels with 115hp as std and the 150 4 stoke was a $2500 upcharge. No electronics. That is how James came up with his pricing estimate.
The boat has now been widened and lengthened and they are going to increase prices for the 2012 model year and the std motor will be a 115HP which not many if any will want.
Can’t wait to see what number we get to with a 150HP on a single console with transom SS rails?
Skeeter is planning to begin recapturing some of the price decreases they offered during the recession. Don’t know % yet. That’s what we’re waiting for.
Are we now out of the recession. LOL Sorry, That one was sitting on a tee, had to swing at it.
