We’re heading up Thursday-Tuesday. Any recent updates? We’ll primarily be fishing the river.

I’ve got a 2019 Ram 2500 with the 6.4 Hemi. I’ve only got around 11,000 miles on it, don’t drive it much. Pretty much use it to pull the stock trailer and skidloader trailer. I’ve pulled the boat up to the Rainy River twice with it from northern Iowa as well. No complaints yet.
September 29, 2022 at 1:39 pm #2149430I’m interested in the shiner run. I might have to give it a go.
Is it as busy as the ice off time ?I’ve never fished it in the spring, only heard stories. I would say it’s not nearly as busy in the fall. My brother and I will be up there Oct. 13-18

October 16, 2019 at 8:16 am #1885125My brother and I just got back yesterday. We were up there 10th-15th. Yes, the river is very high and strong current, but honestly the fishing is fantastic. You just have to fish shallower than you normally would. 10-12 ft of water is where we spent most of our time. You’ll also need heavier jigs. We used 3/4 – 1 oz the whole trip. Caught more than enough eaters, a ton of small saugers, and probably a dozen or more slots. Biggest was 26.5″. Spent some time in 4 mile Bay, the weedline out in front of Ballard’s by the wind sock was solid as well. Good Luck!
October 12, 2017 at 7:46 am #1720470I’ve found as long as you keep you jig in contact with the bottom it doesn’t matter if it’s vertical or not. We just got back from there and yes, there is still too much current to keep a 3/4 oz jig perfectly vertical in most areas. Don’t fight it, just keep contact with the bottom and the fish will bite.
October 10, 2017 at 8:12 am #1719844We got up there on Thursday afternoon. Fished a couple hours Thursday night and all day Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Stayed in the river the whole time, mostly between Wabanica Church and Wheeler’s Point. The bite was very good Thursday through Saturday and slowed drastically on Sunday. The two of us caught 50 to 80 fish a day. A lot of smaller fish, but also a bunch of fish in the 15 to 19 inch range. Biggest fish of the trip was 24″. Caught a couple northern and one small sturgeon. We used 3/4 oz. in gold, pink, and orange tipped with frozen shiners.
October 2, 2017 at 10:26 am #1718215My brother and I are headed up on Thursday. Hoping there is a decent bite on the river, as I don’t have a very big boat and don’t like venturing into the big water with any wind. If anyone has any info on the river bite, I’d love to hear it.

Sorry I misspoke.
I guess there is NO network TV show anymore.. just online only for both productions.Correct they are doing it the same way Bowhunt or Die is stickily streaming all of there shows online, I love that and wish more shows would do the same. We dumped cable TV and watch all our TV shows through the internet now I love it and will never go back. I have already watched all of the 15 Chasing November shows waiting for them to post the other 9 remaining shows from last year. I look forward every week to the Midwest Whitetail episodes as well. Did anyone notice Bills new shirt on the preview show “#IAMDEFIANT” I am guessing that is his way of giving the middle finger to the Network, LMAO!
Has anyone here found the ROKU app for Chasing November? I found the show on YouTube but have had no luck finding it on ROKU.
FYI, #IAMDEFIANT is referring to the new Defiant line of bows from Hoyt
June 18, 2015 at 7:22 am #1550769Check out the UA Treestand Baselayer. It’s really nothing like the traditional UA Cold Gear. This stuff is much thicker and made of a different material. I don’t think you’ll find anything warmer.

to the Durango owners. what kind of gas milage are yo getting on the new vehicles? My house is looking at the same line of vehicles and the Durango has caught my eye. I am open to 14’s too.
We’ve only had our ’13 Durango for a couple months, but have been getting right at 20 mpg. That’s a good mix of highway and city miles. I suspect it will get a little better as the weather warms and my wife doesn’t need to “warm it up” every morning.
March 26, 2014 at 10:34 am #1399427I know it wasn’t on your list of choices, but we recently bought a certified ’13 Durango with 17,000 miles. 5000 lb. tow rating and 3rd row seat. I haven’t towed anything with it yet, but all around seems very nice. Also, I’m not a Dodge guy, but my wife liked it.
