Try doing a google search for Tim Holschlag. He knows more about smallie river fishing on the fly than most. Might try throwing in blockhead into that search, it’s a fly he swears by.

I didn’t know Cheech & Chong had an album out that long ago.August 18, 2006 at 5:51 pm #470656I don’t drive a diesel; never will because I don’t have a need for it. I drive a truck; though it may be gas I still feel the crunch but I didn’t buy it for economy.
I know a “little” about refining. It is real dependant on the quality of crude we get. You don’t take a barrel of crude and turn it into a barrel of diesel. That barrel of crude turns into many things. The crude gets heated and the evaporates are collected at various temps. Each temp equals a different fuel/oil. So if it’s better crude it will produce less diesel. In fact it always will because the chemical make up of gas is smaller than diesel.
Diesel may theoretically cost less to refine but you get more gas from a barrel than diesel which in turn reflects in the price.
I used to be in the auto industry also. A while back a few of us calculated the cost difference between 2 identical trucks. 1 gas, 1 diesel using the manufacturer epa guestamates. You would have to run that diesel truck an extra 330,000 miles to make up for the cost diff in the engine, maint, fuel diff.
So if your not going to rebuild that engine 2 – 3 times and your not pulling around a skid loader or equivalent for business. Your wasting your moneyAugust 16, 2006 at 4:29 pm #469791Yup Raid wasp and hornet killer. Just used some the other day.
It has a ridual effect, meaning that it keeps on killin’
Spray them early morning or late evening when most are in the nest. Then run like H3LL!August 10, 2006 at 12:37 pm #468049I see your from Hastings. Go up to the Tree House by the Point. They sell a crab grass killer thats made by Fertilome that works good.
As far as the nieghbors yard, Roundup on a windy day should take care of that!August 7, 2006 at 8:20 pm #467155As my dad always told me “Oil is the cheapest insurance you will ever buy” and he was an insurance man! It can definitly have an effect because not all oil is created equal. You could’nt get me to run Penzoil in my lawn mower.
Nuff said on the oil.
I was thinking a partial block in the filter but that would’nt usually act like it’s run out of gas. It would more than likely just run like carp starving for more fuel.
It sure sounds like the float is sticking in your carb to me and it is essentialy runing out of gas but allowing you to start it again without priming.
Seafoam just might do the trick.March 10, 2005 at 3:59 pm #348643Well I got $.02 I can give ya.
1. culprit is like just about everyone said is the ground. When I suspect this I take a couple trips around the block so there is good contact through the ball. alot of times this clears up the problem but is not a fix just a confirmation.
But I just fixed one about 2 weeks ago that had those exact same symptoms. The trailer had the sealed light units that you can’t change bulbs you have to change the whole unit. It worked when that was the only one hooked up but when there were 2 it didn’t. Turned out to be the light unit itself was junk and it was only 2 months old.March 4, 2005 at 7:46 pm #347127Alot of people are going to look at this with something completely different in mind
I know I didMarch 4, 2005 at 7:43 pm #347126I don’t think you spill as much beer in a permenant on a per outing basis but over the season I think the floor of the permenant gets more.
Was that your Question?
Seriously, I vote portable.March 1, 2005 at 1:09 pm #346278You can also remove the excess glue with WD40. Works great for removing tar off your vehicle too.
February 22, 2005 at 4:20 pm #344942If the gamefish season was extended it doesn’t mean that the the date to get the perm shacks off the ice needs to. Even if it did the resort owner should remove their shacks when they feel its needed not when it’s dictated. I agree that extending the season would probably not have any adverse effects on the spawn.
February 15, 2005 at 1:44 pm #343257PVC pipe with a cap on each end maybe $10. Then strap it to the outside.
Just my $.02February 7, 2005 at 1:35 pm #341428I don’t know where around here but I saw one in Ben’s bait in Grand Rapids a week ago. Had a plug that would go into a cig lighter and a plastic housing around the bulb. $19.95

February 3, 2005 at 5:05 pm #340607Hello Honey,
Could you please come and pick me up at the lake? I seem to be having a little car trouble.February 2, 2005 at 7:05 pm #340323Hey look at that big auger!
Ha, he must tbe trying to compensate for something..February 1, 2005 at 4:44 pm #340010There is clearly better issues in the state of Minnesota that need more attention than small trailer registration display. I understand that it is something that the law enforcement is asking for but what I don’t understand is why. What is the main driver for this issue? Is it because if they find it parked on a road by itself they wouldn’t need to get out of the car to be able to run the # to find the owner? Small trailers get borrowed so much that running a plate on the back of one doesn’t necessarily give you the name of the person pulling it.
February 1, 2005 at 3:55 pm #339999As I heard Dave Genz say once “If your catching fish that won’t fit through a six inch hole, I want to fish with you!”. 10″ holes are nice but I am a portable kind of guy and 10″ just means more weight, more bulk, more gas.
January 28, 2005 at 4:23 pm #339276Yeah, that’s me.
Had to quit sellin cars the guilt was getting to me.
Old? I like to refer to myself as experienced.January 28, 2005 at 3:44 pm #339265I would give you a hand but I am headed up to Winni tonite. If it’s still there next week and you want some help give me a shout. Any chance we could just destroy the jump? Maybe we will have to have a little fishin GTG and the when they show up “suggest” they move it.

Sounds like we need to have a little Get Together in Hastings on Rebecca or Izzy???? Maybe share “war stories” of our youth days in “Cow Town”……My question for you is, where you a “mud-truck” guy, hot rodder/mullet head ( ), or a jock???
Heck, we could even put some tip-ups down at Duchenes???? There is some nice pike that go cruising through there once in a blue moon…………
Well I wouldn’t say I was a jock but I was on the ski team for 4 years. Had a 69 camaro that I liked to drive in the mud. Does that count?
A Hastings GTG would be kind of fun, shouldn’t be long before the bigger gills and crappie start hit down by duchenes to.
Just for the record my real name is Marty Coonrod.January 28, 2005 at 3:23 pm #339260Quote:

Sounds good to me.
January 27, 2005 at 6:55 pm #339085I just bought an atv and do 50% of my fishing in WI. This thread made me dig into it and find that I needed on of these trail passes to ride on the lakes. Just bought one from Fleet Farm in Hudson if that helps any. Kind of sucks that the thing expires June 30th, but I’ll get a full year out of the next one.
