I’m in the process of purchasing a suppressor right now through Silencer Central and would highly recommend them. Alex and his team make this lengthy and “difficult” process about as easy as possible. So far I’ve got less than an hour invested into the application process and my final paperwork was just submitted to the ATF this afternoon.
I’m on year 5 with AquaTraction in my WX2200 and I had it 3 years in my WX2060 before that. On year 1 with it in my salmon boat. Flooring for all boats have held up extremely well and I don’t think I could own another boat without it. I use simple green for clean up as my product of choice paired with a light powered pressure washer.
I’d consider letting them go as a partial lot but would like to sell them in groups of no less than 3.

Slower opener for me that ended with a bang the next morning. After pulling an all day sit and only seeing one yearling at around 11 AM, I was just ready to gather my stuff to head out for the evening when I turned around to see a large bodied deer heading through the bottoms attempting to come up the ridge I was sitting on. Wind was nowhere near my favor and he knew something was up as he stopped in his tracks at the base of the hill and would not come any closer. It was dark up to the point that I couldn’t get a good read on his rack size other than he was a few inches outside the ears and he was definitely a mature deer. After a 2 minute debate I decided to take the shot and was rewarded with what I thought was a good hit until I got down to investigate. No blood, no hair, no sign of the deer within the immediate area. Elected to back out, sit the morning then search for him the next day. Turns out he didn’t make it far and we found him piled up 50 yards from where I shot them without dropping a single speck of blood or or hair along the way which amazed me when I put a 265 grain slug through both lungs. He wasn’t as big rack wise as I thought he would be based on the body size but I’m still very happy with the end result as it turned out to be my heaviest buck to date at just over 200 pounds dressed. Being able to FaceTime the kids that morning laying alongside him was icing on the cake!

Geeze, those Barns expanders were on ammoseek all last summer for $15/box of 5. I held out looking for Accutips to sight in my new 220. Ended up settling on the Federals when I found them on the shelf is isle.
Were these the 3″ 20ga shells? I saw the 12ga 2&3/4s on there quite often but I definitely missed this “deal” lol.
You can find some 20 gauge sabot slugs on Gun Broker if you want to pay $40 a box or more, and I saw two boxes of Federals at Joe’s a few weeks ago. Those are the only boxes I’ve seen in person in a longgggg time, and I always check the shelves when I go to the stores. Heard from a guy who knows a guy at Federal that they’ve switched a ton of lines over to 5.56 and 7.62. And Remington being in the situation they’re in makes finding anymore Accutips a dicey proposition. I’m hoping to switch over to Barnes, I have a couple boxes I need to try in my 220. I’ve heard that the Barnes Vor-TXs are the same bullet that the old Remington Expanders that everyone loved had, and that Barnes makes the rest of the shell as close to that/the Accutips as possible. Current bid on 25 shells is about $255 on Gun Broker!
I just bought 5 boxes of the 3” Barnes Vor-Tx expanders on gun broker last week for roughly $11 a round. Today was the first time shooting them out of my 220 and they flew quite well compared to my 3” accutips.
I was actually able to find 2 2/4″ Accutips at Click Click Boom in Waverly, MN but the 3″ Accutips continue to elude me. Might have to try the Federal Trophy Coppers as I just found out that the Special Hunt I drew is not allowing any lead ammunition to be used. I would love to get my hands on some 3″ Barnes Vor-Tx Expanders but they’re just as rare as 3″ Accutips these days.
Not at all. I run Canon Mag 10s on the tracks of my WX2200 with no issue.
I’ve had a Louisiana Grill Backyard Pro and now recently a Camp Chef SG30 ($799) which I’ve been very impressed with. After going through a lot of research I settled on the Camp Chef as they have a few features the other grills around the same price did not have such as a ash cleanout system, pellet cleanout system, adjustable smoke setting, and a sear system.
As much as I do not enjoy the live imaging technology personally (I have 2 on my current boat and I simply don’t enjoy this style of fishing) I feel that this is a slippery slope for tournament circuits to cross and the best approach may be to let things come full circle like what happens to most technological advances in this sport. For example, there is already quite a few rumblings in the bass world about fish getting conditioned to Live Imaging and acting negatively towards getting “pinged” by these live imaging transducer signals. Its only a matter of time before this debate dies down and there’s a new fancy technology toy in town that everyone is talking about..
I have 4 Limit Creek 8’3” extendable that I use primarily for bobber rods. Can’t beat em in my opinion.

Fish lake’s prices are better than a lot of places like Trailside in Isle, I can promise you that. Trailside was charging $6/ each for large suckers last fall, and not decoys either. Supply and demand I guess. We laughed at them and went elsewhere.
Im curious to know what kind of minnows you were trying to buy in bulk from fish lake. You shouldn’t blame them for not selling you bulk, bait has gotten harder and harder for them to get ever since the state of mn outlawed importing minnows from Wisconsin. The ponds and creeks in this area don’t produce enough anymore, “they’re too polluted” is what I was told. With a limited amount of bait (especially shiners and leeches) you shouldn’t expect to get bulk quantities, of course they’re going to ration them out and get them to as many different fishermen is possible. It’s called smart business. Realize you were probably the 20th person to ask for bulk bait that day, of course they’d love to have enough to sell everyone what they want. I’ve wanted a quart of spot tails in may the last couple years but I’ve had to live without, or with a dozen at a time.
Maybe he didn’t handle it the most professional way possible, but understand the stress involved in taking over a failing/ poorly ran business and turning it around to make it profitable again. Especially in this economic climate.
Trust me, I was friends with the previous managment, yes bait was cheaper sometimes, but he ran that place into the ground. If it weren’t for the new people we’d be driving to pine city for bait.
Pre-Purchasing or reserving minnows at the normal shop rate is quite commonplace at various bait shops around the state, but knowingly informing a customer that you plan to price gouge them at a rate of 3 times of what’s listed on the price board for other customers is an unprofessional practice and why I choose to spend my money elsewhere nowadays. This was for 3-4 dozen minnows so hardly a bulk purchase that would have disrupted supply for any other customers.
Just a word of caution, Fish Lake will probably have them but the new ownership will make you pay through the teeth for them. This isn’t the Fish Lake Bait of old that most of us had grown accustomed to.
Not that this is relevant to the question at hand but I feel I should share my last experience with them…When I inquired about pre-purchasing some minnows last summer, the new owner laughed at me and told me that if he gets them in his traps he’s gonna charge me triple the price he normally would because “guys like me would still pay it”. Since then my business has gone elsewhere.
Reeds and Marine General were both doing 10% off on the Strikemaster Electric Augers which is the best deal I found down there but they only had 5 left of the 24V between the 2 stores as of 3pm yesterday. Both places have been very good about honoring show pricing in store in the past provided your ok with paying the shipping so that might be an option for you as well.

By all means Randy you certainly shouldn’t have to. My point was that those that are stupid enough to do something like this probably need a constant reminder that they’re being watched and will be held accountable. Thieves love what they consider low hanging fruit so reminding them they’re being watched in real time is one of the few lines of defense we really have against individuals that are willing to stoop to this level.

If you haven’t done so already, take a look at the cellular cameras as they can provide you instant notification of any Camera activity.
I place custom stickers I made up on my cellular cameras that remind people that these are cellular cameras that send real time video, have GPS tracking and that law enforcement will be notified of any tampering with this camera. Seems to work for me. In fact I have had my cameras taken twice in the last 2 years only to quickly be put back a short time later.
Kinn’s runs a top notch operation and has some of the nicest charter boats you’ll see although they are a little on the expensive side. Although I’ve never fished with them, I’ve heard very good things about Fishin Magician as well.
Like mentioned above, replicating baits like these means that the baits need to be sent out first to be chromed and thus far the quality of the chrome process doesn’t seem to hold up that great in my opinion. I’ve had pretty good success finding chrome baits similar to the end color I want to replicate and simply repainting certain portions of the bait in order to accomplish the end result I’m looking for.
With that said, fleet farm did re-introduce this exclusive color earlier this summer!

That’s the one drawback I keep hearing about the Eva is cleaning it. I’ve heard and spoke to several that say soap & water and a good scrub brush and elbow grease is what it takes. Curious tho if it gets dirty easy and is a maintenance nightmare. I’m kinda OCD with my rig.
I’ve found that Palmolive dish soap or any dish soap that has a degreaser in it works well. Pair that with warm water and a hard bristle brush and i’ve been able to get just about anything out of mine including grease as well as mayflies which are the worst to get rid of.
I’d also suggest going with a dark color. I have the charcoal and fish barefoot all the time in mine in high sun conditions without any discomfort.
Any degreaser with warm water and a stiff bristle brush works well. My favorite however, is Simple Green!
I get drilled with the J&J tomorrow. I’m not 100% sold on getting it but I bartered with the wife that if I get the shot I can get an extra fishing weekend away so here I go lol.

I had my 620 rigged with electronics and the job he did was done right. Best part he was well below what a dealer would have charged. I’d recommend finding him on Instagram and sending him a DM
Another vote for Bill. Not only will he do a great job at a good price, you’ll probably be able to learn a thing or 2 about the Lowrance units themselves as he knows them inside and out. You’d be hard pressed to find a nicer guy as well.
Justin with SCV, Titanium Guides, and carbon fiber grips for your last couple of rods what was the cost?
I think my cost for my last build was close to $400 (this was with a high end Batson blank around the same price as an SCV blank that has now been discontinued) so not much cost savings over buying a high end finished rod. I only build a couple rods a year for my personal use so im not concerned about any profit margin or cost savings, moreso the satisfaction of building the highest quality rod possible.
Hard to beat a SCV St. Croix Blank although North Fork makes a few really nice blanks as well. A lot of custom rod builders build off Rainshadow blanks and they are a good blank for the value but if you’re looking for a high quality blank I’d stick to the 2 options above.
I’m no expert by any means but one thing I’ve learned over the past couple years is that the guide train is almost as important as the blank itself so plan on investing some money into that component of the build as well. Fuji Titanium Single Foot Guides with SIC inserts are what I’ve used on my last couple builds and I have been very happy with them. Carbon Fiber split grip handles are pretty sweet too if your looking to keep things as light as possible.
