ARE YOU RENTING FROM VERMILION HOUSE BOATS IN PIKE BAY? IF SO PIKE BAY IS ALWAYS A GOOD PLACE TO START WITH COOLER WATER TEMPS. IT SHOULD BE A GOOD SPOT TO LOCATE FISH. I FISH ALOT WITH ROACH RIGS NORMALLY 4 TO 5 FT SNELL WITH RED HOOK. THE KEY NORMALLY IS TO KEEP YOUR SPEED DOWN. VERMILLION IS A GREAT LAKE BECAUSE THERE IS SO MUCH STRUCTURE SO MANY POINTS & ROCK PILES THAT HOLD FISH. MY THEORY IS ALWAYS TO TRY A SPOT FOR 10 TO 20 MINUTES AND MOVE ON IF NOTHING IS BITING BECAUSE THERE ARE PLENTY OF OTHER SPOTS TO FISH. HOPE THIS HELPS

Thanks for the tip on the orange and pink hooks. They were the ticket. We caught fish this last weekend in the 12 to 18 FOW. Crawlers were still the ticket but we did catch a couple on minnows and running jointed shads.

i would like to know that website. Ive fished vermilion every opener for the last 5 years. couple years ago the main lake was still froze over. im excited for this year. early ice out should have the fish moving out to the main part of the lake so there will be plenty of areas that are holding fish
