BTW, this whole AIS scare is pretty much unproven isn’t it? Milfoil isn’t the disaster it was reported to be. Zeebs have cleaned Lake Erie and improved the fishing to historic levels. Nobody has proven flying Carp can survive winters up here.
Don’t you think it’s the uneducated property owners who should be the targets? Values have not dropped a nickel on any infested waters nor has the fishing suffered. So again………..before the DNR condemns fisherman they better get the story straight.

The point is to eliminate the fish (Mille Lacs) and to scare the fishing / boating public into taking up golf.(AIS) Raise property taxes to eliminate all the poor folks from being lake property owners.
The old adage “follow the money” is becoming crystal clear to this old boy.
Is it fair to blame the DNR? After all shouldn’t we be blaming the “dart board” on the wall of the DNR offices? There absolutely should be a sliver stating it’s the DNR’s lack of management that’s to blame. Also a sliver mentioning the nets. Heck there should be a sliver blaming global warming.
Is there any reason Mother Nature and the Anglers should be taking 100% of the blame?

If you want to help sort the tackle into baggies and give them a price range of what you think they should sell it for on a estate sale. You might also suggest a on-line auction. That way you are able to pay what you want or even over pay if you want to help the family. Advise them of all the low lifes who will try and force quick deals. They should take there time. Now is the time to grieve not the time for major descisions.

Flying into Tesup tomorrow morning at 5:30 am. Don’t know what to expect, bringing clothes for everything. Had 2 1/2″ on rain over night here on the Ash River Trail. Docks are floating, river is over it’s banks.
