    Nice fish Tyler!

Aquajoe took Karl(Mrkeb) and I out for our last trip this past Sunday. The bites were fairly consistent. I think we probably got a total of 7 or 8 in the boat. The bite seemed to pick up around 5:30 or 6. My only fish was 45″x16″, which was my best this season. That one did a really nice jump for me! Later, Joe had one on his line, so Karl was getting the net and than realized his rod was doubled over. So, Joe managed to bring his in and then went to help Karl with his. We knew it was going to be a big one. So, we reeled in the rods, brought up the anchors. I just barely got the front one up in time! It was moving our boat pretty quickly. By the end, it looked like he moved us at least 100ft from where we were!! So,it put up quite a fight! Joe’s was 43″x16″ and Karl’s was 56 1/2″. I don’t recall the girth, but it was pretty thick! His goal was to get a 50″, so this was his PB! After not having much luck this season, it was a great way to end it! Thanks again for taking us out Joe! Here’s the pics. I think the head on shot, looks kinda gross, but oh well!

My boyfriend does this and just uses Microsoft Excel. It actually works pretty well! He includes all the info that you mentioned…location, weather, time of day and somehow sets it up, so that he can easily go back and look at the history for the lake he’s going to fish that day. I’m not an Excel expert, so I can’t tell you exactly how he does it, but I could find out. I don’t think it would be that difficult to explain. Especially if you know a little bit about Excel. It’s mostly just knowing the formulas to use to search for the info later. Just let me know if you’re interested and I will try to get you the info.

I’m not sure, but I think the current state record was caught from shore.

I’m pretty sure you’re right about that. I believe he caught it from shore and eventually got in his kayak to follow it. I can not imagine reeling that monster in from a kayak!

Good luck if you try the shore fishing Pug!

Aaron, you must have an understanding wife. Judging by some of the posts I’ve read on this site, there’s probably quite a few that wouldn’t let that fly. Did she say you better win?

Should be a good contest! I’ll see you all there!

Is it true that some of these guys breach the water when hooked?

Yes it is! Actually, that was probably the best and the most memorable part of catching mine!
Thanks for posting the pics Dave! They are great memories!!!

As for Whisker Hooked, alitte pressure is good for you. Hope you do well again this season, who knows maybe even Karl will catch one….

OOUCH!!! Hopefully he’ll catch more than one! Gotta even out the number of pics in our photo album!
Have to admit though, he’s definitely in the lead with the catfish this year!

    the 15th?????
ooo boy, that’s a night after our BPCL. Might be tough to pull off.

I’m sure everyone would understand if you can’t. It’s gotta get tiring staying out all night and bringing in a winner every contest.

Only 2 more weeks until 5-6 days/nights a week on the water.

Im looking forward to the body aches after spending day after day of fishing big fish, lifting anchors like a chinese fire drill, watching partners run laps around the boat chasing their big fish, jaws dropping when they jump out of the water… and even the “excitement” of others when an eel gets into the boat

And I thought I was already excited! Sept 1st can’t come fast enough!

Oh, and Wiggum, it was definitely terror, but did end up being a pretty comical situation! I have to remember to hold the eel further from the boat next time!

Haha! That’s the goal!! Would have to see if I could even handle one that big!! I thought I was going to take a swim when I was trying to bring in the 63incher! Can not believe he brought that thing in from a kayak!! That’s just crazy!

BrianK- you’re bringing back bad memories for me! I didn’t think we were ever going to get that eel out of Dave’s boat! We tried everything, until finally Dave said **** it,grabbed the thing and threw it back! Still suprised the thing didn’t whip around and take a bite!
Not so “weird”, but that’s been my only unexpected catch!

I’m so sorry to hear of your loss. Definitely a time where it’s impossible for us as humans to comprehend why this would happen, so just remember that God has a plan for you and your wife. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Whoah..Really didn’t mean to cause a hassle or make things too serious by bringing up the measuring thing. It was just something that was mentioned last year. Didn’t necessarily have to be the exact same tape, but there’s been enough suggestions of some now that hopefully everyone will at least have an easier time measuring!

I think it was mentioned last year to have everyone use the same measuring tool. Not sure if anyone actually uses tape measures, but it probably wouldn’t be a bad idea for everyone to use at least similar seamstress measuring tape. Just a thought.
