I was thinking the same thing. Oh well it was worth a shot. I guess I’ll have the lakes to myself for the most part then seeing as how nobody likes to fish this area.

Thanks for the go anyway Brian.

I think it is a matter of people simply staying closer to home.

Nice fish Tyler. Any idea on the weight of that fish? Looks huge.

And for The Better Half good job teaching him to wear gloves while handling those dogfish. I think I only caught one so far in my life but will never forget trying to get the slime of my hands.

Brian that brings back a lot of memories seeing the pics of the old bridge and dam. Thanks for sharing that story as well.

There has to be more people that would be interested in a new Hutchinson area forum. He already said just need a few more to show a little interest in it and it is a go. I would volunteer to oversee it even to make sure it stays civil.

Please just a few more reply’s. I would love to see this forum take shape.

That is why I used an ellipses because there are simply too many to list. This I think would be a great forum for locals.

Please start the new forum there are too many lakes around the area I think to not have one.

When it comes to fishing this is the one thing that bugs me the most. As much as I would like a pair of really nice glasses the price is the one thing I can never get over. Although I do not do a lot of sight fishing or for that matter fish lakes with good clarity, eye strain is really bothersome at times. I buy the cheap ones simply because I loose them a lot in lakes. If all my sunglasses I have ever lost in a lake were to be piled in one spot, you would get a good structure for fish. It is over 50 for sure, mostly in the same lake.

I was just wondering what is currently working right now. I do not want specifics on lakes, just methods and possibly jigs used. It seems to me the cold front around here really slowed them down a lot and am finding a very tough bite to say the least. We have a few good lakes around Hutchinson and they all seem to be dead for a bite.

Did they simply move to deeper water?

First I would like to thank everyone for the warm welcome. And second clarify a few things.

    1. First and foremost I do not chase bass or green carp as some of you refer to them. As a matter of fact I don’t target any species of fish at all. I simply enjoy fishing and cruising around on the lakes with a line in the water at all times. Whatever bites, bites. I would have to say I’m more of a pan fish and walleye guy, though I will say bass are fun to catch.

    2. Yes, the Bottle Fish is in the same genus and species as the Bottle Bass.

    3. No, there is not a grill on the pontoon. It is always on shore where it belongs IMO. The kind of grilling I do takes preparation and patience and an ever watchful eye anyway.

    Todd
