Go into the “trails” menu.
Find the maximum points setting.
Reset to zero or create a new trail.Make sure to “display” and “record” when setting up a new trail.
May 19, 2010 at 3:03 am #872940Go to the trails and waypoints menu.
Select the trails tab.
Make sure “display” and “record” tabs are selected.
If they are not selected, it will not plot your trail. The trails and waypoints tab is under “chart” I beleive.
Make sure you update to version 3.0 as it is the newest and most current software available.May 14, 2010 at 3:42 pm #872098Lowrance Elite 5.

http://www.jollyannsales.com/FFwithGPS/lowrance_elite_5.htmMay 2, 2010 at 4:36 pm #868603I have a 2007 Colorado Crew Cab 4×4 with the I-5.
I could not be happier with it. I have 30,000 miles on it so far and the only maintenance is the oil changes. The I-5 gets 20-21 MPG easy without pulling anything. It has plenty of pulling power for my 17′ boat. Overall it does everything I need out of it and it was 7-8K less than a full size. I have the 3LT with every option fully loaded.
They hold their resale value VERY VERY well, much better than any full size. If you find a good deal on the 2005, I’d say go for it with no hesitation.April 12, 2010 at 2:34 pm #863037You have to set maximum trial point to all 999999999’s.
Either that or switch to a new trail.
April 2, 2010 at 4:21 pm #860094No ice anywhere on the chain as of this morning.
There were three boat trailers parked at the 71 access and 1 at the 22 access. The 22 access is very muddy but the water level is almost back into the river banks.
Talked to a couple guys from Litchfield fishing cats on Horseshoe, one had a 22 incher.
I think the water is still a bit to cold for the panfish to be shallow yet.
No rain here yet but it was snowing in Bismarck ND this morning.March 27, 2010 at 2:51 am #857709The river channel has been open for a week now.
The ice is pulled away with some open water areas where there is river current.
The boat ramp is Cold Spring is open, in fact I saw a boat heading up the river at 6PM tonight.January 2, 2010 at 3:47 am #828712Grand View on the north end.
Maddens on the south end.
Maddens is on Wilson Bay, some very good fishing to be had there!January 2, 2010 at 3:43 am #828711Was out on 12-31-09 on Cedar Island.
Cut holes from 4′ out to 23′.
I drilled out four different areas.
Marked a few fish, sat over them for two hours, but only caught two bluegills. Talked to a few other fishermen, and did not hear anything better. Pretty slow.10 inches of ice where I was, foot of snow and some slushy spots. -22 below here tonight, so that should freeze most of the slush. Nobody I saw was driving trucks out yet.
December 11, 2009 at 11:19 pm #822750F. Farm carries the Lowrance transducers.
59.99 I believe. It will work with 5,7,8 or 10 inch screens that hook up to the blue connectors. This also includes the HDS line.
November 25, 2009 at 3:27 am #818275I heard the solo engine might only be a one year deal.
Techumseh engines went thru a reorganazation and may very well be back next year.
I suppose it all depends on the performance for the solo this year.
Cost and profit margin will also be a huge factor.November 21, 2009 at 12:43 am #817404Buy your ticket for only $20 at Mills Fleet Farm before
11-30-09.November 12, 2009 at 8:01 pm #796751I believe the trap-link system has been discontinued for 2010.
You might find a local retailer with a few links left from last year.
Otherwise try Clam Corp. direct to order if they are even still available.November 12, 2009 at 3:50 am #815353Quote:
I have owned the Lowrance stuff and it was a horrible experience, Dont let anyone tell you that it is worth it.
I have used a HDS 5 on the ice and it works great.
The trick is to get the settings correct and then you are good to go.
The nice thing about this unit is you have GPS built in for marking your hotspots. If you are set on a flasher the Vexilar FL-20 is king.
I do not work for Vexilar, Lowrance or any manufacturer.
I worked retail for 20+ years selling these products and also have personal expierence with them.Beware of product manufacturer duplications and stick with the proven leaders.
Just my .02.November 12, 2009 at 3:38 am #815351Vexilar FL-20.
I have been selling and using Vexilar products for 20+ years.
You simply cannot go wrong with a Vexilar.Buy one, you will be happy with the proven leader in marine electronics for 50 years.
November 7, 2009 at 1:04 am #814476St. Cloud Scheels has them also for $399.99
That is $100 more than they were selling them late last winter.
They must be trying to move out old discontinued inventory.October 15, 2009 at 12:24 am #809266Are you by chance the Lindy Rep?
I haven’t heard anything too exciting about those exchange jig heads.
Ever try to fish a 1/8 or 1/16 ounce jigs on a 1/0 hook?
I think not.
If they offered a hook to match the weight I may consider them. Otherwise I like to re-tie often anyway to maintain decent knot strenght anyway.
Just my .02…PS- Nice slabs, hopefully some of those great fish were released!

This kind >>> http://www.automaticicefisherman.com/
I don’t believe these are legal in MN.
Correct me if I am wrong.October 10, 2009 at 2:19 pm #8083582 Inches of snow here and 22 degrees.
Better get them docks out, ice is a coming!
May 20, 2009 at 1:07 pm #778259Anyone know if the new update from 5-15-09 supports battery voltage as an overlay item in sonar and chart pages?
April 10, 2009 at 12:09 pm #767363There is still quite a bit of ice out there yet.
I would say it will be another week or so until complete ice out.
It is still getting in the mid twenties here each night, and it still freezes hard each night. Until we start melting 24/7, the ice will stick around.
Turning water on in freeezing conditions may spell disaster. The water is still high, but going down more each day!
April 7, 2009 at 8:49 pm #766513The water has gone down some more, nothing drastic.
The snow is pretty much gone.
It has been windy here, but I think it will be another week to 10 days before the ice is out.
It is still getting down in the twenties at night, but the spring sun will win out soon!April 6, 2009 at 2:50 am #765993Quote:
Any idea if they have problems with Lakemaster Cards?
The Lakemaster chip works fine.
The Navionics chip is really only beneficial if you fish in the whole upper midwest.
If you pretty much fish in Minnesota, the Lakemaster chip is the better choice.I have upgraded from the LMS 522 to the HDS 5.
So far, I am really happy. It was worked very well on the ice. I have not used it on the boat yet, but very soon.
The transducer and power cables are the same as the HDS/LCX series units, so the PPP-16 ice pack will work for the HDS 5.
The GPS locks on really fast, and the colors and screen clarity is amazing.
It also worked very well over weeds.
I have had lots of problems with my old LMS 522 loosing bottom over weeds. That problem seems to be eliminated with the HDS units because of the “broadband sonar” feature.Good luck in your decision.
April 3, 2009 at 5:21 pm #765442The 22 boat ramp is still completely flooded.
The water has come down some.
Water is not over the road on 22 anymore.
It is still up to the tar in a few places, but not over.We ended up with about 7-8 inches of snow and it is melting slowly.
Still lots of ice on the big part of Horseshoe and Cedar Island Lakes.
The river sections with any current are all wide open.March 30, 2009 at 4:06 pm #763837The forcast does not sound good here, we could see up to a foot of snow.
March 27, 2009 at 2:04 am #763093Quote:
I would agree…. if they got a Liquor section…. Bob, can you work on that ?
Sure I’ll get right on it!
March 27, 2009 at 1:14 am #763071The Cold Spring Dam is the highest I have ever seen it.
Frogtown park is also flooded.
March 27, 2009 at 1:10 am #763067The water is over Hwy 22 in a few places.
There is some ice on the big parts of the lake, but all river sections are 90% open.
