I’m with you, like the way I do it today too, but if I start seeing them pulling some in, it might be tempted….wasn’t much got caught with any tactic the day I was up, so I’m not convinced.

Ok so I’ll likely get laughed at, but starter battery is 6 years old, 2 up front feeding the 24 volt system are 9 years old……can still run all day…I like my Cabelas on board chargers….was wondering if that might have been my issues, but was hoping someone had a $10 widget to cure all…..9 years x 30 weeks/ years x 5 to 10 hours a week…I don’t think they owe me much

I came really close to spending the $ to add this to my outboard. Running a 75 yamaha on a 1775 Pro V. Accidentally trimmed the motor out a little further than I was used to when up on plane….instantly noticed that the fight I was fighting with the handle went away….I like the locking feature of the Titan, but if I’m trimmed out right mine doesn’t pull any more….

I have a 2011 Ford F-150. It is a company provided vehicle that I get to use for personal use. I grew up a chevy guy, and it was a sad day that they “Made” me get a Ford. I would have to admit I would never go back. Every Chevrolet I have ever owned has some kind of annoying squeek or rattle, or a window with big wind noise….my last 3 Fords are tight. I just have the 302, and can get 16 mpg running E85. Put on about 65k a year….if I had to buy my own today I’d buy a Ford, but consider a Honda if I could give up a little bit of size. I can put 4 300 lb guys in this truck and they all ride comfortably….used to choose to drive this over a suburban because it offered more back seat leg room

I was up on Saturday…..miss Dean, what the heck are they building, and where is the bite! Saw guys fishing jigs, sonars, jiggin spoons, 3 ways, and pulling cranks up the channel….nobody was lighting ’em up….

Is it too early in the season? I tend to agree with the shad comment! Had never foul hooked a shad before Saturday.

While sitting in my boat about a year ago, the fishing was pretty slow and the wind was constantly changing not only direction, but changing speed. I wondered how long it would be until GPS technology was implemented into electric trolling motors….I wondered this out load to my fishing companion that day….he said I was nuts….
I work in the agricultural industry where farmers are miles and miles ahead of the rest of the world with access to GPS applications to help them assist them in their world….I love the idea of “working a point” a guy should be able to drive a line, record this line and dial in the speed that you want this unit to walk your boat exactly back across this line….revolutionary, the technology that this would mean…..Many of the agricultural applications include an “auto steer” system which enables farmers to plant crops or till their fields with flawless perfection of accurate straight rows….I offered a name for my idea “Wato-Steer”…I still like the name and think I-Pilot is too pop culture for me….I’m betting the next generation of Lake Maps will allow an angler to take advantage of pre-existing A-B lines, and essentially eliminate the need to “pre-fish”, dump the boat in and fire up the I-pilot to take full advantage of pre-existing map information.
To a certain degree, at the ripe old age of almost 40….I’m starting to get a little old and cynical in my ways and wonder if this isn’t somewhat like hunting gophers with an elephant gun, and essentially eliminating some of the sport that is involved in the sport….but the teenager in me, can’t wait to give one of these a try, and learn more about the system….Please keep this thread going, I’m anxious to learn more about these.

Thanks for all the replys….I plan on leaving the bow mount 24 volt hooked up….likely just hook the 12 volt to just one battery….I think I can do this, and avoid the sparks….haven’t seen sparks yet….they don’t sound really fun….Generally won’t be using both motors on the same outing….different tactics in my mind, just want a decent troller on the back to do some really slow back trolls….jigging up at everett’s I’ll run the bow mount….Please correct if I’m wrong about that it is possible to hook these up and walk away without sparks…I too have concerns about duration of performance, but generally won’t switch back and forth between motors…

So do you get the same effect as running two batteries in parralel….extended battery life? Thanks for the quick response.
