Where did the name “Denver Rig” come from. We been using these things for 40 years and always called them Dubuque rigs.

That is very disappointing considering that Steve has been an icon and leader in the muskie world.

I look forward to your report from Michigan James. I will be heading down to the outlaws over Labor Day weekend and bringing the boat along for the maiden voyage on the big lake. Hopefully get out 4 or 5 times if I can find someone to head out with me.

The wing dams are not shown for those other pools.

I will agree to the previous post results. Had a 620T with a T8 and F150. Same results. A good average 50 to 52 no matter on load.

“cast and blast” i like this idea but it’s against the law. you cant be fishing while hunting…… if i could i would of had many duck and crappie meals

Not to highjack the post but why is it illegal? We have been doing it for years while duck hunting on the Miss. Been checked numerous times by wardens and they never said anything. Just curious where this is documented?

Thanks for the good info guys. The chip I had was a 2007 Lakemaster Chip. I really liked the way the wing dams were displayed on it. My buddy had a navionics and they just showed up with thin lines. Are the dams on the new chips a thicker solid line?

    Thanks,

Thanks for the prompt reply. I guess I am talking about pools 3-10 at least. I can’t remember which chip I have at home right now. I know Navionics has of the older cards that does this but the dams aren’t very visible. The chip I have shows the dams as big wide lines. Very easy to see on the plotter. I think the chip I have was a Rivers North Chip.

Another question? For this area which 3D card. Lakemaster or Navionics.

    Thanks,

We didn’t really take the time to tape her as we were trying to put a limit of fish together for the bass tourney. Plus those bass fisherman normally don’t have anything in there boat to measure real fish with teeth of that size. I would say it was pushing 30″ and somewhere in the 9 pound range.

Whiskerev is right on the money with his explanation. Trust me I can not go through anymore even as a passenger. They do ask that question. The main thing is that it is up to the border guard whether or not you cross.

    Good Luck

The marina landing is open. They say they charge a fee but that has always been a question.

The only decent launch is on Hwy 35 between Tremp and Holmen. There is a spot you could possibly launch under Hunters Bridge on 53 but it is very steep and you might need a winch to get back out.

I know the boat you speak of it is on the river quite a bit. Was out last night and think they might have gotten the hint somehow. I was trolling a slough for eyes when I see this bass boat coming. Amazingly it slowed way down and idled through the slough that I was trolling. Of course it could have been a differant boat but theren’t many Rangers on the water with a HPDI.

Yes the landing is in very sad shape. During normal water there is only one launch that you can use and that is risky if you don’t know where the holes are. The problem is that the landing I believe is not owned by the DNR. It is the Corp of Engineers. The DNR has been sticking all of there money into the landing on Long Lake which was not really needed.

Is you motor mounted in the lowest position. If not lower you motor. Tunnel boats are picky and need to be set up just right. If it is in the lowest hole you can play around with different props but your best bet is to buy a manual jackplate and adjust from there.

    Good Luck,
