February 25, 2007 at 1:12 am #541222One use of a tail-up grub on a jig is if you swim it right on the bottom or swimming across lay downs.
May 6, 2006 at 12:59 am #444123The law for the River is that you can fish from railroad track to railroad track on each side of the River. If you go under a railroad track in a feeder like Yellow River in Pool 10 you need a Iowa license and if you go up the Wisconsin River past the first railroad bridge you would need a Wisconsin license.
April 28, 2006 at 4:46 pm #441848I found a boater. As of today there is 87 boaters and 113 co-anglers signed up for BFL LaCrosse.

Great article, I like that. Here’s a thought, what if our Native American Indians made that statement to the Pilgrims.
March 31, 2005 at 6:44 am #353751I have a 2001 optimax 225 and it let loose in 2001 and again in 2004. It was out of warranty but Mercury covered it. They sent the powerhead, injectors, and reeds and I had to put a new water pump, filters, plugs, and drive belt. The reason I think they did this is because there was a class action lawsuit on all optimax motors made in 2000 thru 2002. It was settled in sept. 2004. They will warranty it until july 2005.
March 16, 2005 at 1:33 am #349951The dealer that I know of in Janesville is also a used car dealer. A very small operation.
February 22, 2005 at 4:29 pm #344945The Cabela’s catalog says that you can download any of Garmin’s Mapsource CD-ROMS. I have the Fishing Hot Spots V5 that shows the contours of certain lakes. I use it on my 168 GPS Sounder. You can go to Garmin.com and buy it there.I hope this helps. JR

February 10, 2005 at 12:28 am #342089The way I read it is the WI. residents hunting license will go up 60% and the non-residents will go up 0. What are they thinking?
November 7, 2004 at 3:12 am #326557The BelAir Motel is a great place to stay. Big rooms and very nice owners. The owner fishes and could help. The phone number is 270-362-4254. I do have maps of the lake and a video of the lake at drawdown.
November 7, 2004 at 2:33 am #326553Here is some food for thought about the BFL. I fished 4 different Wildcard tournaments with questionable ethics involved. The first one was at Neely Henry,AL The winner was Bill Taylor the FLW director, another of the final 6 was Eddie Evans the tournament directors brother and another one was a Redman chewing tobacco rep. I am sure that non of them new where the tournament was going to be held. The next tournament in question was at Paducah, KY on the Ohio River. There at the meeting is Billy Schroeder, one of the best fisherman in the area. I’m sure he just had a bad year and didn’t know where the wildcard was going to be held. Oh ya, he came in second. Then the last two I went to were at West Point,Ga. Each year I drew a co-angler from GA. that told me they knew the tournament was going to be held there and they knew it by midsummer. How is that for playing in a fair field? I did not renew my membership last year and will not fish with them again. Sorry about being longwinded but I thought I should share this information. For an added note Bill Taylor was a part time director when he won and for the 2nd West point tournament Kim Carver a former All-American winner fished that and came in second, and I’m sure he had a bad year too.
August 25, 2004 at 4:14 am #318725I had 5 bad Dual Pro chargers in the last 4 years. They wouldn’t give a full charge, then one bank will quit then another. They kept replacing them but they are junk. I now have a Minnkota 3 bank. So far no problems and a full charge.
