Your right John,
It’s no secret in this circuit on who is a boat watcher and who isn’t. There’s also plenty of guys on the other end of the spectrum that you could tell exactly what your doing And on tournament day they would stick to their program. It takes a lot to gain the respect of other tournament anglers. Driving around waypointing other peoples spots isn’t exactly the right way!!!!

I was one of the guy’s this happened to last year. Fish looked good in the live well, put them in the bump tank and two went belly up! So…. this year I made the decision to fizz them immediately. Three of my fish were caught before 8:30. And they were happy with their belly’s to the bottom all day.

I agree with Scott. We fizzed all of our fish right away. And had no dead fish penalty.

Check your colored wires. I think their called nemo wires? Put electrical tape around each end individually. They should be under your dash and just hanging freely. I was told that if they are touching each other they can cause inteference.

Line counter reels with lead core are not a huge factor! I DO use them but the only real reason is for a fast accurate deployment of line in a tournament situtation. You can usually get pretty close to where you want to be by counting colors and paying attention to your rod tip.

First of all, A dead coyote is a good coyote! Next, I was told to stay away from the super short mags because of the casing being soooo…. small. They are having chambering problems, and that the S.S.M are not taking off like the short mags so, in the future finding shells might be a problem! Just bought a Win. model 70 .243 from reeds I pick it up on Friday. Just my.02 cents

My personal preference this time of year would be Sakatah. Spend a lot of time pulling shads along the north shoreline on the break (where it drops from 4-8,9feet) If this doesn’t produce, try throwing lipless rattle-traps in the same area towards evening 1-3 ft of water.

Yah Mike, I talked to Kevin Hunt yesterday. And he said they were 99% sure that the format would stay the same. With raised entry fees on both sides. Putting first place on the boater side somewhere between 7-8K. Also, Rumor is pool#4,Millelacs, and Bemidji. Yep, only a three lake year. And nothing was said about the championship.

Don’t forget to check out both the pod and clam bars. They are small but once you find them they can be very productive. Also with any wind at all, drift across the top of Diamond pulling crawlers (through the weeds) in 6-8ft of water.

***CORRECTION*** For any one interested we switched reservations to Bayshore resort I think its in Gladstone. It has a baitshop and launch right there.
