    I agree that you can check the software and find one with an older version, but the point of updating your software is to make the unit run better…ie fix bugs, etc. If you stay with the old software, you stay with it’s limitations too. I like to update my units every spring with latest software version. Tough call….

    A gen2 will work with a gen1. Gen2 has a few more options is all. They will still communicate together via Ethernet.

    I agree the overheat is the impeller. I have a 1995 175 Pro V and had the same symptoms as you are experiencing. The impeller can take a set if sits too long.

    Thanks for the input. I just wondered if there was a technical reason for having it on the port side since I see more configured this way. It seems there isn’t so I’ll probably leave it where it is. Thx.

    The vinegar and water works well. Add some rubbing alcohol too. This makes a great glass cleaner.
