September 21, 2016 at 4:47 pm #1640910I hunt a small plot of land that’s mostly all trees. At about 7:14 on Saturday (4 minutes of shooting time left), I spotted a nice 8 about 40 yards behind me. He slowly came around and walked past my lane at about 7:25. I couldn’t shoot but didn’t want to spook him, so I stayed there for an additional half hour and slowly creeped out of the stand and to my truck. I HATE having to exit the stand after shooting time when you have deer in your immediate vicinity, I try to let them move on before I make the move.
Where were you hunting? Where I was in western WI it was legal shooting until 7:40
December 27, 2015 at 11:49 am #1587507I would bring the hand auger every time for a back up with that jiffy
Thats hilarious. The only auger I’ve ever owned that I needed a hand auger with for was a Strikemaster. Went back to the Jiffy and haven’t had a problem since and I drill 5 holes to my friends Strikemasters 1
December 19, 2015 at 5:35 am #1585949Did you even read his post? Five people saw ZERO deer all weekend. If you can’t see a problem there then you must be blind. The Wisconsin DNR has been ruining our herd for years with unlimited doe tags and there inability to count how many wolves, deer and bear there are in the state. I see you are from Minnesota so you wouldn’t know anything about that. And bashing a guy for wanting to put a little meat in his freezer is even more ridiculous!
October 25, 2015 at 7:10 am #1573074The story all starts last May during morel season when I found one side to a heavy horned buck that would push booner status. Come late August after months of scouting for him with no luck I was given some info from my cousin that farms our land that a huge buck was using a small 1-2 acre portion of the farm on a nightly basis. Within a day I hung a new set and set up a trail camera and was rewarded with my 1st picture of a buck I would soon become infatuated with. He would prove to act his age as I sat many nights in late September hunting his core area only to have just a few doe and smaller buck sightings. At this point I backed out and let the farm settle down for the rut. Come the middle of October I checked several cameras I had set out to find that he was a a frequent visitor in portion of our farm that is a big valley. I immediately went in and hung a new set in a small funnel area in between two doe bedding areas on October 17th. On the morning of October 22nd I went in for my first sit with a perfect NW wind. The sit was quite uneventful as I only saw a couple small 1.5 year old bucks. After checking trail cameras in the walk out I was thrilled to see that he was using the area although it was during the middle of the night.
Come the day of October 24th I was stuck at work for a 12 hour shift when I asked my co-workers and boss if I could sneak out early as I wanted to be in the woods after a front passed through. They had no problem and by 1PM I was at home giving my clothes a scent free shower. I made it to my stand just after 3PM and settled in for the night. Around 5PM i decided to do a bleat-grunt sequence . Within minutes I noticed movement about 100 yards to my south. I saw he was a good buck and got my bow ready. As he got to 70 yards I decided to draw my bow so I would be ready when he got into my lanes. At 20 yards he stopped and appeared to have picked me out of the tree. It was at this time that I realized he was the big 10 pter I was after. At this point his turned slighty quartering to and stared at me. After a couple of minutes that felt like an eternity I knew it was now or never and quickly settled the pin on his vitals and released the FMJ tipped with a Rage 2 blade. The arrow found its mark and within minutes I watched the big boy tip over about 75 yards from my tree. After several calls to my old man and girlfriend I finally walked over to him to NO ground shrinkage. He green scored out at 166″ and easily goes down as my top buck to date. I still am in shock and can’t believe that he’s hanging in my garage as I type this. It goes to show that scouting along with hunting stands only in the best conditions pays off. Cheers!

September 26, 2011 at 12:29 am #997209If they finish with a better record than Arizona they will play the Braves..If they don’t they will have the Phillies…But if the Cardinals overtake the Braves they then will have Arizona
August 1, 2011 at 11:56 pm #985575I have a similar problem with my Dakota…It works perfect when the temperature is above freezing but once it gets cold it won’t shut…anyone have an answer to this problem?
February 17, 2011 at 1:40 am #938235I drove out there tonight…Theres still a good 18 inches of ice out there but there are spots with 8 -10 inches of watery slush…4 wheel drive is a must. With the rain and the 50 degree temps tomorrow its going to get worse.

FYI- I never posted the location that you are fishing. You obviously just revealed that yourself..
I’m sorry that you got confused, but this fish was released back to her bed after about two minutes. I caught her, took a picture on the deck, then quickly went to shore where there was a guy walking that could take my picture. The distance was far less than a hundred feet, and I was running. we got the picture and I quickly released the fish which swam away healthily. Believe it or not, when the water is this cold a fish’s metabolism slows down tramendously and being out of the water for a few minutes does absolutely no harm. Ask yourself: What would you do if you just caught a personal best perch and were by yourself but people were standing on shore less than 60 yds from you? I don’t even need to hear the answer, because I don’t care. You can say I was wrong for what I did but I don’t regret it because I have a picture for memories, and the fish was released un-harmed.
I find it quite hilarious that people criticize me for not giving enough information, taking kneeling down pics, etc. and then turn around and tell me I tell everyone all of my secrets..I know there are many people on this website that share far more information/revealing pics than I do, but they must not be an easy enough target for youI may be a sucky fisherman in your opinion, and that’s fine and dandy with me. If that’s the only factor you use to judge someones fishing ability, I don’t want to be a good fisherman.
Now for some more spot sharing and secret revealing…
Got out today and whacked some more perch. biggest one was a 12.5″ 1 lb 7 oz perch. I also had a 12″er and a 12.5″ that went 1 lb even. Great fishing is ahead.
Good for you…I take all my pictures kneeling down. But I will say that I have more than once figured out spots where you and your buddies were “catching the fish” because of your posts on this site. And more than once it happened to be at the same spots I was fishing but nobody else had been until you posted it on here. You know what I’m saying

why would u keep a big fat female like ?????????
And why would you jump on Cade when you don’t even know if he kept it or not????
What’s going on…A “hate Cade” movement??lets see here..the picture is easily a hundred feet off shore…i dont know about u but when i CPR a fish its done on the spot so that the fish STAYS ALIVE…And the reason ALOT of people dont like Cade is because he gives up spots that others are fishing….You all will say that they are community holes but there isnt a community fishing there until he posts on this website…..He may be a good fishermen in your books but he will never be in my mind because I believe that a good fishermen keeps his spots and techniques a secret so that we can preserve the fishery.
If he did no big deal….Looks like a dandy supper – mounter to me..
Oh yea and one picture is IN the boat and another is OUT of the boat. You people obviously dont take smart pills.

yeah just thought id let ya know cade didnt keep this fish
I dont know if your adams brother but he was a friend of mine…And I hope that he threw this fish back…But if your going to release a fish why not take the picture right when u catch it so you dont keep the fish out of the water for a long time….Our perch population has just begun to come back and I would prefer to keep it that way.
