Ortho Home defense Max works pretty well, no where as exciting as the gas, but probably keep ya from becoming a You Tube hit if it goes wrong.

My dad purchased the 2020 FX with a 250 suzi last spring and throughout the summer and fall it’s been nothing but good to him. No gel coat cracks in the hull or transom. The 250 pushes that boat around great, and is by no means a dog out of the hole. The fit and finish isn’t going to be where Ranger is but you’re also not paying 70k. No planing or porpoising problems.

Rough ride buddy had one and it fell to pieces. He had a 20′ model. Looks nice but doesn’t ride well at all. He dropped his sponsorship due to the poor quality and they gave it to him. Hope that helps.

I’ve rode in just about all of them and by no means would I say it’s a rough ride….I’d actually lean the other way. Granted he’s only had it a year but so far so good.

I have a 20 foot FX DC and it rides smoother than most, with the 250 I have gotten 56-7 mph on a perfect day full tourney load., it also has a foil but I think the proper prop would help that.
Foil is cheaper than playing the prop game.

I have a friend with a matching Skeeter and he proposes also, wrong prop again maybe, also seem all of the major brands bouncing across the water at one time or another..
Larson has made some minor hull changes to help, not sure how it worked out.

I’m told Bell did not leave Larson because of quality, sponsor dictated the change, ask him if you want.

Larson may not be for everybody, but no boat is, quality is good considering cost and hull design gives a smooth ride, admittedly at the cost of a few mph.

I don’t know any of you personally and I’m not taking any side whatsoever…however I’d recommend all IDO’ers looking at this thread just drop it before things get out of hand. We’re all here to learn about fishing and share BS stories, let’s not let an internet forum war get started.

    Agreed.

I think your point is you know nothing about carrying a weapon.

Exactly. Even though open carry is allowed, I think the only people that do need to have their ego stroked. Of the few open carries I have seen I could have walked up behind them and upholstered their weapon before they could have reacted.

I’ve probably went through close to a 100 tanks and never had this problem, whatever it is popped out when I turned the valve slightly to clear any crud that may be in the valve opening, first time it’s done it.
I’ll return the tank, thanks all.

Were thinking of hitting Grand Marais Monday the 17th and Tuesday, you think the crowds will have thinned down by then??

A place to stay seems to maybe be in short supply if all that is going on?

A quick call to them ( http://www.customcutlery.com/) and they are not using the foundry any more and I was advised coming down to watch them being made may or may not work depending on how busy they were.

Also where to go to look or buy one of these knifes is now at Meringo (sp?) which is about 16 miles west of the old shop.

Didn’t I bring cookies last time we went?
Maybe not…I’ll correct that next time.

I looked into the pro am thing a ways back and I think there’s a lot of horror stories that get blown up well past what happened.

You talk to the guys who actually do it and most will say the Pro was a decent person, a lot depends on your attitude also.

Go with an open mind and ask all the questions you want before you actually hit the water, things will go much smoother imho

In the NWT – the fish that are caught by both the Co-Angler and The Boater are counted together in the same bag – or tournament weight.

I know it has been said before – but hard work and focus go a long way! And approaching the experience as one to learn from, usually seems to be the best approach.

Also – Homemade cookies always work with me!

If I could fish with you, I’d bring all the cookies you wanted..

The more you contribute to this thread the more confused I am . Anyhow WHATS YOUR POINT ?

    ok you asked.

First my mistake, should have been CRC (castle rock clown), not CDR, and my comment to him was tounge in cheek trying to be humorous as I think he was.

Secondly, rual people (here in MN anyway) tend to lean towards anti abortion, and I tend to not have a 12 year old raped by a half dozen gang bangers have to bear the fruits of their labor..the kid, no matter what the parents say.

    Remember you asked.

looks like the yeti and grizzly are about the same price or close anyway, anybody compare the two maybe?

I use my yeti for a deck extension too, thinking of picking up either another one or a bigger one to run across the front of the back deck.

Al – I will have a 60 and a 150 with me at Red Wing NWT if you want to look them over?

I did try that. Halfen responded that I jsut needed to connect the Humminbird NMEA2000 bridge to an existing NMEA powered network. What I came back and asked where to get an NMEA powered network, I got no response and the thread died an untimely death.

Pretty new stuff here probably not many know how to or what’s needed.

I take pictures of the step by step disassembly, also close ups of odd shaped parts that may go in more than one way.

Takes a bit, but you then have them on file for next year.

Nice boat, best of the glass boats I’ve looked at, but $60k is a pretty good hit when I’m retiring in a couple months.

Wife’s looking at our finances, I have doubts, but she sure smiled about that boat so ya never know..:)

sorry to be a hard-a$$ on this one, but it’s been pounded into me since I was six years old

I have a bro-in-law who is a firearms safety instructor and even if he and I were the only two in his basement; if I pulled a firearm from his gun-safe and handed it to him with the action closed, I know he’d smack me up the side of the head for it

(although he stores them action-open, so he would REALLY have reason to smack me if I handed to him action-closed)

I can see handing someone a closed action gun as unsafe, I’m still trying to figure out the action open in the gun case though.
Can’t remember ever seeing that best I remember.

You want a little unsafe gun handling..hit some inner city indoor range on a weekend.

Just got back, always to much stuff to buy and I usually do.

Did pick up a nice 9 foot collapsible Tackle Industries 1-6 oz musky rod though, and way to many lures, wife even bought a few.

More places to buy usually is good, but I’m wondering if they’re going to have more ammo than they do now?

    Good to hear though, thanks.
