As many of you have already seen on our facebook page we are releasing a new rod today. That new rod is a rod that we designed for dead sticking. It is a heavy noodle. It has the backbone of our QT but with a heavier noodle tip. This rod can be built out to 36″. It also has a hi viz orange tip to make the lighter bites easier to detect. Get in touch with any of us here at Tuned Up Custom Rods to get more info

Are you building these on MHX blanks? I see you noodles are apparently built on them? Looks so anyhow with the near identical green tips.

No we use our own blanks that we have designed. We have worked hard with our engineers to develop all our blanks. Our noodle rods have the same hi viz green color tip because we found the green is the easiest color to pick up when sight fishing.

Calvin is correct. It shouldn’t take longer then 3 weeks to get a rod built for you. We do have some stock noodles looking for a good home. Let us know what size you are looking for, we may have it in stock.

What’s the added cost of the split grip handle vs. tradition on TUCR?

It is an up charge of $10.00.

Why does Minnesota always get the great custom rod shops? Thorne Bros and then this one looks awesome as well! Wish central/northern WI would get their behind in gear and get a good custom shop somewhere. I guess if you have to be a vikings fan there is a consolation prize…you have good custom rod shops

Skeeter boat center in Chippewa Falls has Tuned Up Custom Rods in stock right now.

how long of wait time from when you order?

Usually it takes 2-3 weeks to get a rod in your hands. Right now it is on the 2 week side.

Taking off from the discussion on the multiplier reel about James’ new rod; I’m looking at Dean’s site and the photo only shows 4 guides. Anyone know how many guides the Tuned Up guys are putting standard on the 32, 34 and 36″ rods?

I see a couple of other sites (korky’s and ice fishing maniac) that show more options for handles, wraps and guides too, but no picture of a full length rod. The tuned up website looks to be under development yet. More info needed, tiny flames and hole starting to form…

The number of guides will depend on the style of guide you would like (ceramic or Recoil) and the overall length of the rod. Looks like http://www.tunedupcustomrods.com will be up and live by the first week in November.
