    Hearing aid – almost.

A couple weeks ago I fished alone all morning on a small lake and I got skunked. Piled all my gear in my sled about 1:00PM and pulled it to my car. As I began to pull away from the parking area I noticed my right hearing aid was missing. I was shocked.

I parked the car again and started looking. Went carefully all around the car and then headed out onto the ice about 100 yards to where I had been fishing.

About 4″ of snow covered the lake and I was sure this would be a $1,700 loss. I shuffled along, looking frantically. I had drilled three holes and as I checked all around the area where I had been fishing I found the hearing aid! It was sitting on the bare ice about one inch from the edge of one of the holes. I could not believe it. I was almost afraid to touch it, fearing I might nudge it into the hole but all was okay. The hearing aid was fine. You have no idea of the relief I felt. I now leave both hearing aids in the car before I go out on the ice.
