Lol that’s a great point! Yes I’m referring to the tri- county canal in Gothenburg/ Lex area. We tried the checks yesterday with no luck and am ready to find some eyes and saugers.
I fished the check at Gothenburg on Wednesday evening and the inlet at Johnson Lake on Saturday evening with no luck. I do know one thing. We are getting close and if you stick with it, you will be catching fish soon. Just remember, after that first fish is caught, 45 people will want to fish in your shadow for the rest of the week.
Nice fish B Rob – we also headed out Saturday and got into the walleye pretty heavy. Ended up catching 28 with only one under 15″ and all were fat. Most were released but a few were kept to eat.
I’ll post since went out today – and thanks to Brian for his help, starting to figure out a few things. We caught about 80 today – kept 6 to eat Also bonus was the largemouth that was not expecting.
Last couple of weeks we’ve managed to get into quite a few walleyes and a ton of crappies, with a few whites mixed in. Trolling, slabbing, bottom bouncing, jigging was all working, but especially trolling. Now with this weekend who knows what’ll happen. High of 44? Ugh.
Here ya go Jebb. Was out in the canal again today and tricked this 32″ Northern into crushing a Flicker. Of course, it wasn’t what I was expecting, but I sure was hoping it was a nice walleye. Ended up with 11 crappies, a LMB, and a couple channel cats. Never know what you’ll get next in the canal though, gotta love it. But I would still rather have a pic of the bikini.
Just as long as it’s not you in the bikini, I’m good with the picture!
