Why don’t you start baiting them? Get them comfortable to start coming over by your house for a couple days and then a good pellet gun will take care of them easily, but I’m a big fan of those silent CCI’s also. I have a springer and an air compression pellet gun and I think the CCI‘s are quieter than my springer.
March 21, 2025 at 7:13 am #2325361I lived in Minneapolis for two or three years 70 through 73. When my apartment got broken into I got a big insurance settlement, but I could extend those dollars by using it at businesses that they had a deal with. One of them was Schaak electronics. Now for a 19-year-old kid living with three friends what was the neatest thing in the world that you could have? For me it was a monster stereo I got to walk around Schaak electronics and pick out anything I wanted to come up to, I think it was about 3000 or $3500. I picked out an amp, I picked out speakers, turntable, cassette deck, etc. Added it all up and it wasn’t enough. I went around the store and picked out the biggest stereo that Pioneer made and from that day forward the four Plex we lived in and the houses on each side knew when we were having a party. Great times.
March 18, 2025 at 5:41 pm #2324780Fins. I did the grooves too, AND put 3 grease zerts in the top and 3 more in the bottom. Replacing a cable is one thing, but having those axles rust in one position or the other would be pure hell
March 17, 2025 at 6:57 pm #2324575I’ve thought about it, but not done it. The rope sure seems like a good idea but I keep doing steel. I’ll watch and see if others have.
March 17, 2025 at 6:52 pm #2324573Strikemaster was a great company and always did right by their customers until they were sold to a heartless, self indulgent company with limited service and a “take it or leave it” attitude called Rapala. And they weren’t the only ones Rapala ruined. JMHO
March 7, 2025 at 9:01 am #2322259Can’t go wrong with the deal that was posted earlier on the SM40
when you say SM40 i’m assuming the SM stands for strike master right? No more strikemasters in my future, I’ve spent way too much on those stupid laser blades in my past when they were the darling of this site.
March 6, 2025 at 3:52 pm #2322139I think late too unless the sun and wind get harsh. Next week is cool again so I’m at least last week of April guy. This is for total ice out.
March 3, 2025 at 7:08 am #2321196Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage makes me chuckle. The new Mother In Law is a pretty good character.
February 28, 2025 at 3:55 pm #2320725Exactly Rip, building a skid house soon and pretty sure the shaver blades won’t reopen old holes is why I might need a different set up.
shaver blades work great for reopening holes. Kdrills do to but take more torque, but if you have a big drill go for it. Lazers like Strikemaster suck at reopening holes. If you lose that leading edge with a tiny ding you might as well use a butter knife.
February 22, 2025 at 6:38 am #2319334Did your self sharpened blades cut ice? I could get them shaving sharp but wouldn’t drill ice. That angle is touchy and when you get a burr/rolled edge your getting risky.
February 21, 2025 at 4:48 pm #2319254There’s been a million, maybe a hundred, posts on this over the years. Welcome to the wonderful world of Strikemaster. It’s the good old “what auger is best” debate
February 21, 2025 at 8:36 am #2319102Sorry guys, if it sounded like I was picking on all city people that’s not the case. When I talk about city people, I talk about all those flaming liberals that don’t wanna hurt the feelings of the wolves, or even the fish,. They don’t wanna make any waves with the poor downtrodden tribes, even though it’s not the local tribes that are raising all the stink it’s that one from Wisconsin. It’s just a total mess. My apologies for not explaining myself a little better.
February 20, 2025 at 6:41 am #2318790Why does it always seem city people know what’s best for local residents. Come on up and live here, see first hand how this crap affects us.
February 19, 2025 at 2:30 pm #2318691I think the limit should follow the state limit and I hope that’s 4 soon. I also think it’s time to challenge all the poor management issues over the years because a Wisconsin tribe wants to challenge every issue that they disagree with and claim it’s their right. This crap should be challenged under the Trump administration now that the liberals don’t control the country. One country, one set of laws. This post is doomed to be dusted soon. All of us that live around here are tired of it.

February 14, 2025 at 8:23 am #2317493That tip up line is ok till you get a hook snagged in it, then you’ll play hell trying to get it out and not trust the strength. The individual threads in the braid are very thin.
February 11, 2025 at 4:19 pm #2316889For your reels try Hot Sauce, on the tip ups I’ve had the best luck with Blu Lube. White lithium gets too stiff. Tip up lube is a very specific product. Every brand makes one, you’ll find 3 or 4 but I think Blu lube is the best and Frabill the worst.
February 11, 2025 at 6:50 am #2316702That means they are out of tha sku and won’t have more until probably next year when their next order from China gets shipped. Just like with Lindy, it’s the way of the world now.
February 9, 2025 at 5:12 pm #2316339I tried both Striker and Arid, my hands were colder with them on than off I think. Toooo snug. Arid large and xl are the same but xl has longer fingers. I would keep looking, two of the worst purchases I’ve ever made. I’m back to good old cheap Jersey gloves and take a couple extra pair.
February 9, 2025 at 4:55 pm #2316337Great, but that won’t work for long. I’m not a fast typer so somebody tell him the right way.
February 7, 2025 at 6:29 am #2315813Get rid of that propane pig and go all composite. Then next year you can post on the “Best purchase I made thread”.
February 2, 2025 at 11:09 am #2314646Clear the blades if over 12-18 inches of ice and put new blades on it. Most problems are dull blades.
