Anything bigger than Medium sand and it will grind the fiberglass above the keelguard when the boat digs in. If you say rocks hell no wouldn’t beach it you are asking for problems I wouldn’t do it with a nice aluminum boat. A windy day and you are screwed. Look in my picture the bottom one see the deep scrape from a rock that was one rock one time not 5 days of it hitting the hull.

I have also had sticks lodge in between the bunks and the boat. I tried hard for a while to not scratch it since I’m keeping it for along time but it is inevitable and life goes on
February 12, 2017 at 5:13 pm #1673409February 12, 2017 at 4:19 pm #1673405Yes usually try for lakers. Last year was bad for me (0) but this year I got a 26″ which was a stocked one (missing a fin). It is a hard lake to fish and the ice can be a little iffy. The lake takes a long time to freeze since it is so deep so be careful. A couple weekends ago I had 12-14″ of ice but the warm temps can’t be that great for the ice now. I’ve put a lot of time in fishing the lake with low results so good luck
February 12, 2017 at 4:11 pm #1673402I have a keelguard on my ranger 620. What exactly are you looking for? My boat gets beached almost every night during fishing league (10 tuesdays) at least 1 time per night some times 2. It is in sand but I have had a few rocks hit the bottom which is quite awesome!! People like to throw rip rap rock off the shore on pool 2 near the 494 landing and my boat seems to hit it every time(thanks for that). It just puts scratches above the guard since it is only a few inches up on either side. I’m just going to get it repaired when it gets real bad not much else you can do.
I do drag the boat up to eagle lake and have not had any problems with hitting a rock so far but I do not explore new areas in my boat that I’m real unsure of that is what the rental boat is for.
July 23, 2016 at 7:45 pm #1630516Look at pleasure land RV they have a lot of ice houses and they are cheap.
July 23, 2016 at 7:37 pm #1630515Ahhh bunnies. 13 so far this year! I have learned my gamo whisper is not to accurate. Small pie plate is about as accurate as it gets with the .177 pellets.
Going to switch to a Benjamin marauder air riffle (pcp) style .22 which is way more accurate.June 12, 2016 at 8:38 pm #1624134Znak
Did you end up getting a new boat with a Yamaha?I just seen this post and I’m running a 2013 620vs with a Yamaha 250 offshore and a 9.9. I have just under 90hrs. The boat runs around 58-59 mph, 57-5800rpm with the prop Yamaha put on for ranger. I did talk to Yamaha reps at the boat show and after discussing the performance we decided that My setup is correct for how I fish. Putting a different prop on really wouldn’t be much of a gain to justify.
I’m not sure on MPG because to be honest I really don’t check it. I fill it up when it’s low and drive it like I stole it.
Hole shot is good the merc is faster but let’s be honest what is a few seconds and in my opinion the Yamaha will last longer
May 13, 2016 at 2:33 pm #1619486In the spring the water can be full of junk like sticks and wood chunks which can get stuck in between the boat and bunks. Try to rember to look when you see the junk floating in the water. Took me 3 times putting boat in and pulling out to get the crap out from the bunks last time I launched
May 1, 2016 at 11:49 am #1616710Consensus looks to be GoPro. I have a 3 and it eats the battery fast for me. Now battery’s I searched and seen a few different brands on Amazon. Which ones hold up good and how many would you recomend getting. I do realize you can charge in the boat also. So 2,3,4, or more?
What is a good universal location in the boat to place the camera?
May 1, 2016 at 6:06 am #1616658Cabelas has a kit they sell which has everything you need. Look up fox 40 international saftey kit. (Classic kit) not the basic you need signal mirror
If you are going to fish the Great Lakes you will have to buy flairs also. They have what you need listed in the regulation book for Great Lakes
April 28, 2016 at 3:59 pm #1616297Stay around $3000 don’t pay much more. A non high seer rated one will work and @ $3000 they will make money. You will need a new A-coil new condenser (outside unit) if they can change out the line set get that done. Flushing them out works just fine if it can’t be replaced. Same price no extra charge.
Both ways work but it is always better to change the line set out since the refrigerant is difference and they use different oils.
April 28, 2016 at 1:53 pm #1616256Maybe someone can post up what normal height is and than slow no wake height.

April 26, 2016 at 6:44 am #1615674Have the EGO 2 and it works great for me.
The first EGO nets on the market had problems and they made changes to them which seen to be holding up good.
We will extend out grab fish pull it in quick and lift fish in the boat.
April 19, 2016 at 11:55 am #1614375When you finally figure out its the battery get the next size up and you will be fine.
Had the same problem with a group 27 went to a group 31 and it’s fixed
April 19, 2016 at 6:36 am #1614298Make sure all fuses are good and test batteries. Battery plus should do that for free. Look for broken wires also. Broken, loose or just plane bad ground can do weird things.
Bought my boat from frankies and the service has been good so far. I’ve had a pile of warranty work done.
April 14, 2016 at 6:56 am #1613446Thanks to all who attended the pre meeting. It was great to see everyone again! Looks like we will have a great turn out and we might have to make a few more measure boards.
Good luck on opener

March 31, 2016 at 9:22 am #1610577I found a Supreme Court decision in 1990 that explains its freedom of speech
Well got my answer.
March 31, 2016 at 9:13 am #1610570Ok so watching the news they keep showing a person burning the American flag!!
Shouldn’t that person be arrested for that crime? This sure makes me mad. The protesters don’t even seem to know what they are protesting
Can someone explain how this can be done with no repercussions.
March 28, 2016 at 5:49 pm #1609943Mississippi has them. Pool 2 has nice sized ones and I would think you could try walking along the rip rap shore along the river by kaposia landing area and catch a few. Or park in the lot under the wakota bridge and walk along the path till you can find a path to the river.
Might have to find a boat it would be a lot easier for you
The st.croix has some also but a boat would be a lot easier. Try along the shore in the bluffs park.
Sorry I’m not much just of a shore fisherman and don’t really target them. Just a lot of incidental catches

December 4, 2015 at 5:52 pm #1582145Mudhole has piles of info.
A good book is Rod-Building Guide by Tom Kirkman
It is what I used starting out and still look at.August 26, 2015 at 8:21 pm #1562050Personally like the Grand superior lodge. But have to stay in a cabin.
Try marine general for fishing updates.
July 12, 2015 at 8:37 am #1554219Same problem in my boat. I have my tank of a charger on opposite side of kicker which helped a little.
June 8, 2015 at 5:40 pm #1549149I would like to recommend Pine Beach Lodge on eagle lake. http://www.pinebeachlodge.com They are great and it is a family atmosphere. They actually take the time to get to know you and feel welcome. I started going up with a group of guys for opner than went a few times with my cousin for opener than started taking the wife and kids up in the nice weather around the 4th of July. Infact the groups up in the spring keep asking when my cousin and myself will come back up.
If you want to be shuffled around like cattle their are a few of those resorts around the area also.
