Yup, took one of those to teach me to get my foot off the gas back in ’65. Left the road at about 80 or so, thru a fence and into a grove. The only thing I remember is that everything was in slow motion. Woke up in the back seat with glass all over me, a bloody nose, and cuts and bruises everywhere. The passenger side of my car was almost caved to the drivers side. No seat belt. They were only for decoration back in those days. Still don’t know how I survived. A slight concusion, a whole lot of stitches and damn little memory of what really happened.
James, I feel your pain. I too, had come to a limit with these uninvited, rain sogged intrusions onto my property. We have one in our area called the HomeTowner. It’s nothing but a bunch of advertisements, with a few classifieds stuffed into a plastic bag, only to get tossed into the trash, thus adding to the overflow of our landfills, or and ending up in the bushes, to be found during fall clean up, and again adding to the overflow of our landfills. I contacted them by certified mail to cease and decist with their unwanted intrusion onto my property by their delivery personnel. I like John, theatened to bring legal action against the publication. Guess what? I haven’t received that disgustingly annoying publication in several years. Evidently, they took my threats seriously. I haven’t heard hide nor hair of them since. Happy day! No more annoying HomeTowner!! A certified letter stating the cell phone disaster and a threat to hold them civilly responsible for any further property damage of worse yet, personnal injury, that you could possibly encounter in the future, should get the job done. It worked for me.
If that doesn’t work, perhaps you have an attorney friend who wants to get a good laugh and could send a letter on their letterhead with some legaleze type stuff that most of these simple minded people won’t probably understand, and they’ll quit immediately. The people that publish this kind of stuff aren’t exactly “rocket scientists”. You’ll scare ’em off.

No malice intended here Chambers, but I beg to differ with you on the vicious nature of Pit Bulls. We had a neighbor with a Pit Bull named Barney. He seemed like a rather peaceful dog until one day when he attacked my 2yr. old grandson through the backyard fence. I heard Brady screeming from the backyard and ran out to see what the problem was. Barney had already torn the sleeve off of his coat and had his snoot through the fence and had ahold of the rest of his coat, visiously tearing and slashing at it, with my precious grandson in it! I ran up and pulled Brady away as fast as I could. Brady had several abrashions and a pretty bad bite mark on his arm.
The neighbors are good friends, and we never held them responsible for any damages. They paid for Brady’s Dr. bills without asking. Everyone was just shocked that Barney would attack anyone like that. At best we could figure is that Brady stuck his hand through the fence to try to “pet the doggie”, and that somehow set Barney off.
I didn’t ask them to, but they put Barney down the next day. I know it was hard for them because they loved Barney. I’m a firm believer that these breeds of dogs should be eradicated, as they have a vicious nature that can emerge at any time. I’m sorry that some people have adopted them as pets, and agree most of them are good dogs. They just have an inbred vicious streak that you just can’t predict when or if it will emerge. Barney was a peaceful dog as far as I knew, up until this time. He loved being scratched behind his ears. I did it myself many times and all he did was hang his tong out and tilt his head back indicating he liked it.
I think perhaps the folks at the Cornerstone Baptist Church may want to redo that sign. Not sure that’s quite the message they had in mind.
Rob, how do have your radio setup mounted? Sounds like a good idea. Any info would be appreciated. Size or # of ram mount, where you have the ball mounted etc. Also, how far out can you get with the Little Giant antenna? Thanks
Gramps
Oops, sorry about that Fireflick. I wish you guys would have never screwed around with your screen names, I’ve been confused ever since. Didn’t mean to get you guys mixed up. I’m appreciative of your help, and look forward to meeting you someday. Your reputation preceeds you!! LOL
Thanks for the help.

Rock on Dave. Get them BfishN ringies out there. I have guys tell me all the time, “I seen ’em at such and such place, and I can get “em for so much cheaper.” My response is, “Look at the tail”, How wide and long is it on those brand X baits. The answer back is, “Well, it’s not as long or as wide, but so what?” Case closed. You fish yours, and I’ll fish mine, and we’ll see whose successful.
Like I said, “Rock on Dave.”
Gramps
Yup Wade, looks like he’s back into the Doc’s again. Sometimes these addictions are just too tough for some folks to whip on their own. Seems, it may time for some “tough love”. Perhaps a good “ole fashion GI shower” is the next step.

Thanks for the Pic’s Tuck. That is one nice float. Sounds like it’s got a great layout. Haven’t ever found one yet that was just right. This one might be it. I think I’m gonna have to wait for blue though.
Tuck, I was being a lttle bit ribbing about the color thing, but maybe I need to . Seem’s you are a “big wig”, after all. That being said. If they want to really sell boats, they’ll be releasing that color option by next season if they’re smart. It gave me goosebumps and probably you too, when you saw it for the first time. Pardon my lack of knowledge here, but what is a wrap? I guess I don’t understand the thinking behind the boat manufacturing business. If you’ve got a hot eyecatching color, why not get it out there to help sell the boats. Don’t leave us with female duck colors when male duck colors are possible. I won’t buy a G-3 with the colors that they now have available. Reminds me of the stubborn Lund company. I’m looking this year, and won’t wait for G-3 to make the same stupid mistakes other boat companies seem to make. I had visions of a Hot Blue Dodge Cab and a half, towing a Hot Blue G-3, decked out with all new electronics by Jolly Ann. Now, that’s the unit of my dreams!

Thanks for the reply Steve. My son Jeff and I, met you at the fish fry with Wade. Hell yes, I remember you! Your the guy that could be heard halfway across the pond when you nailed “her”!! Outstanding fish, Steve. That’s the one of a lifetime for most of us. I was almost as happy for you as I would have been for myself. You noticed I said “almost” . Seriously, terrific job and great fish. James can really put you on ’em can’t he? Amazing!!
RiverRat, I too, use the Off Shore boards, but only in rougher water conditions. The last year or so, I’ve been using the Church Walleye Boards more and more. I fish alone alot and having only one clip works better for me. If you get used to running the Church boards, they get easier to read. Instead of running the tattle flag on the Off Shores, I’ve been running the Church TX-6 Magnum Mini Planers for light presentations. Boy, are they sweet. The tattle flag system on the larger Church boards is crap. Given the choice of any tattle flag system, I’ll choose the mini planers anyday. I swithed out the clips on the Church Walleye boards for the Off Shore OR 18’s to run the superlines. Works great.

Dave, first of all, thank you for your enthusiasm. I would like you to know that advertising does work. Especially, if the products you advertise are good ones. My past experience with the products that have been advertised on IDA are first rate. Let that continue to be your motto. Be agressive, yet picky about your advertisers. I have yet to find a bad product advertised on IDA. Keep it that way, and everyone will do well. It’s when we sell our souls for the almighty $ that we lose track of our message and what we intended to do with it in the first place. That becomes the problem. Then, we’re just like evewryone else, and become just another “cheesy” outdoors show. I hope “like hell”, that doesn’t happen here. Keep your focus on good quality advertisers and you’ll do fine. You may not grow as fast as some, but quality still sells, and reputations if maintained, endure even longer.
I may be just the example your talking about. I buy all my electronics from Jolly Ann Marine, led to by this site. But, because of the oustanding service I’ve gotten from them, they will continue to get get all of my Marine Electronics business. I bought Reel Weeds this year and have only had the opportunity to try them a few times. I am convinced that they do indeed attract and hold fish. I’m not in the market for a boat right now, but when I am, the G3 will be the first one that I look at. The Fall Walleye DVD that James & Co. put out has gotten me intrigued. I bought a Yammie T-8 on his recommedation and I have been super happy with that little motor. That along with others who are happy with they’re Yamaha products, has done it for me. Another thing I’m looking at right now is the Marcum 460-560 underwater camera. I currently have a Z series Agua View. It’s ok, but it’s a directional nightmare. A real pain in the butt to use effectively, especially if you want to move. I’ve gotten away from using it much, just for that reason. The Marcum cameras are just what I’ve had in mind. The Panfishing episode made my mind up for me. That will be one of my future purchases, from Jolly Ann by the way as always.
As far as Everts Resort goes, well all I can say is just go there and see for yourself. If you come away and don’t like Dean Marshall, then buddy you’ve got issues that I can’t help you with. Dean’s one of the finest guy’s that you’ll ever meet. Now, if you were there while Dean was off for medical reasons, I won’t vouch for that crabby old guy that took his place while he was off. Thankfully, Dean is back. Whew!
Geez, I almost forgot BfishN. Koonce’s products just speek for themselves, by the number of fish that are caught by those who use them. There’s a constant testimonial on this site and his are the most asked about products that I know of. What do you know about these ringworms, do they really work? Yada, Yada, Yada.
Dave, I know I’ve given you a long lituiany about my experience with IDA advertisers, and can attest to the outstanding products and services promoted by them. This has been the tradition. Built on trust, by trustworthy people. Just keep that in mind.

I think I would check them out before buying, if I were you. Winter storage is not kind to electronics. I have left them out in unheated conditions in the past and have found them to have “issues” come spring. A good way to justify “an update”, with the spouse, but from an economic standpoint,(dumb move) not good.
Gramps
Magic 54, don’t let these guys pull your chain. Bunch of jokers, but good guys, all the way. Sincerely, Jolly Ann Marine is absolutely the “real deal”. I wouldn’t even think of purchasing any electronics from anyone else but them. They will take the time to let you know what your options are. No pushing what they have on hand, there. If they don’t have it, they can probably get it for you. The customer service they provide, is second to none. Ya know, we’re always “hollerin'” that there’s no customer service anymore! Well, that’s not exactly true. Jolly Ann Marine specializes in customer service. I can assure you, they will take good care of you, and see to it that you get what you need. And at a very reasonable price. They’re often under Cabelas, or the other outlets of that type. But, you just don’t get the personnal touch and concern that they provide. What’s more, you may get to talk with Tamara. Believe you me, she’s much more attractive than Wade! Kidding aside, they’re one and the same on your electronic needs. They’re Jolly Ann Marine. The Best of the Best.
Oh, don’t forget, if your from outside Iowa, NO SALES TAX! A benefit that I am unfortunatly not able to take advantage of. Give ’em a call. You won’t be disappointed!!

By the way, Dave. I have a Bro-In-Law, who lives in Palisade. Right in your neck of the woods.

Welcome to IDA, Dave. Sounds like your a busy guy. Just what we’re looking for.

James, here’s a thought for ya. It would be interesting to see how many of us out here in Lapland, who would really like to see the In-Depth Outdoors episodes, would be up for something like this. What about a subscription to the In-Depth Outdoors series? That way we could prepay for the series and receive each episode as it’s released in DVD form. You could even have it set up so they could be purchased by individual episodes online if so desired. That would sure give me a good reason to look forward to watching my mailbox again, in anticipation of the next episode, instead of the usual garbage. Just a thought. I’d be all over that.
Gramps
I don’t know what it’s called, although I know I’ve seen ’em before. Looks like something made by Abrogast or Panther Martin
Wow! I envy you guys who get to watch these In-Depth Outdoors episodes. That’s one of the best commercials I’ve ever seen. I’m not sure what it is exactly, is it the music? Is it the unique filming style? I know the content will be second to none, but there is just something else that’s very special and intriging about these outdoor productions. I first noticed it watching the DVD. I watch it over and over as if I can’t get enough. It’s like there’s something about it that fires every base instinct in me and makes it almost seem like I’m right there. Very eary and excitingly appealing to me, right down to the way the bubbles in the ice look. And the Pike taking that minnow! Wow! If this show isn’t an instant hit, then there’s something very wrong with the outdoors folks in the cities. I think the whole IDA crew responsible for this are really onto something we’ve never seen before.
James, you’ve got to promise to put these shows on a DVD! I hate the thought of missing even one episode. I see nationwide destiny here, without a doubt. I’m ready to kiss those dreadfully boring old hunting and fishing shows goodbye, right now.

I agree that he should be hung with no fanfare. Just fade into nothing. It should be no more than a crawl across the cable channels, although, I’m sure our media will make a big deal out of it. Morons! I’ll be glad when he’s gone. His real punishment is yet to come.
I’m no Kerry fan, but I agree that the comment was uncalled for.

Ya know Todd, now that I think about it, my MIL might just be the key to this situation. Make sure you have plenty of tire pressure. Oh, and ya, you’ll need a set of earplugs. Oops, she’s in the other room, laying waste to the X-mas candy. I better watch it!!

Ya shur Don, I tink Da Yuppers are pretty darn good too. Vun a my all time favorites is, ” Sixteen Yuppers on a pontoon boat”. Kinda makes me vant to cry yust a little ven I hear dat vun. Oh ya, done ferget “Da 40 lb Crappie”. Dats a good vun too!!

I have visions of a Gamehide advertising spot demonstrating the actual toughness of their products. Seeing as how comedy is such a useful commercial technique, Ripper could be on the verge of a lucrative new career! I’ve seen it several times, and it’s still funny.
Oh ya, thanks for the help on my question.

BrianK, when I type (http://www.dvd1.in-depthangling.com) it takes me right back to this current Viewing forum: Night Fishing for Fall Walleyes.
When I try to download the installer file to access the Web Link portion on the dvd by typing (http://in-depthangling.com/dvd/dvdccess.exe) into my browser, I get ERROR 404 with the message: The file you are looking for could not be found in this location. Please join us in the forums for further assistance. Thank you!
I guess my question is, am I mistakingly looking for another web link when actually this is IT? If so, then as Homer Simpson would put it, “Dohhh”!
Thanks,
Gramps
Got my dvd in the mail yesterday. All I can say is WOW! I’ve never seen anything like it. Absolutely the most entertaining and imformative fishing related dvd I have ever seen. Just finished 3rd viewing. A special thanks to James, Rob, Tuck and the entire crew for an unbelievable job of producing this outstanding dvd. All those other guys who produce fishing education materials had better be looking over their shoulders. James Holst and friends are comin’ to kick your butts!!
Ok, now for my computer dimwit question? I’ve tried to access the web link portion of the dvd, and can’t get it to work. I’ve tried following the instructions that came with the dvd, and my browser (aol) can’t find the web link. I’ve also tried to access it from the dvd by selecting the web link from the menu on the dvd and all it does is kick over to the play movie button. I’m using a windows pc. Anybody have a clue about what I’m doing wrong?

Thanks for the imput, guys. TSCTSC, that Gorillapod, looks like an interesting device. I’ll have to check it out. I’ll check back with you later, after you’ve had a chance to use it, to see how you like it.
