If you are working with Black Walnut by cutting or sanding where you create sawdust, make sure you use a filter mask. The sawdust is toxic to humans if you inhale it.

I only had 58000 on my ’05’ and had to replace them. Just dried up and could hardly turn them.
May 7, 2012 at 7:47 pm #1066370I have a Dual-Pro 3 bank, does a great job. Keep it on all winter and checked water in mu batteries and only added about 8 oz water to all three batteries total. Dual Pro is rebuildable if one of the banks go out. I did have Minnkota and I feel I’v made the smarter choice going to the Dual Pro.
December 23, 2011 at 2:41 am #1020635On E-Bay I found a company out of Lexerd, NJ that would cut a anti-glare shield to fit. This worked well for cutting the glare. The cost was about $16.50 and they paid the shipping. In fact I just got a screen protector for my HM1198. Sorry that I don’t have more info. If I come with a name I’ll post it laterr.
December 12, 2011 at 1:58 am #1016853I got a pair of these from Barska. They are a pair of 12-60×70 Binoculars with Tripod. Bigger field of vision and great eye relief. They were on sale for $99.99 and free shipping.Take a look. SKU: AB10172-CO http://www.shopbarska.com
November 16, 2011 at 2:43 am #1009287I’m hauling mine down to Florida for 3 months of fishing on the St Johns river. This will be a first time trip starting in January. New experience and challenges.
November 2, 2011 at 11:28 pm #1006124I had the Truxedo and it served me well. If you have an 8′ box this one is available. I had to go to a topper for other reasons.
October 30, 2011 at 2:39 am #1005142I’v been running my ’08’ Verado with one Wallmart battery for the last three years with no problem. All of my electronics are on the same battery. I do have hydraulic steering and not the Mercury Power Steering. Maybe I’v just been lucky.
October 13, 2011 at 9:41 pm #1001292If you have an 8′ box, I have one listed in the classifieds. Willing to look at an offer.
June 30, 2011 at 4:01 pm #977507It’s important to have the bumper on the boat and not on the dock. The bumper mounted on the dock will rub on the boat as it moves with the waves. With the bumper on the boat it moves with the boat and does not wear on the paint on the boat. Ask Tom P, we experienced this on our week long fishing trip and over the week the bumper on the dock did wear on the boat. Hard way to learn a lesson.
June 18, 2011 at 4:17 am #974178x2 on the Dual Pro, I leave mine plugged in all winter, check my battery’s and water levels are good and the Dual Pro is rebuildable. It’s not a throw away, if you loose a bank you can have it repaired.
May 6, 2011 at 5:22 pm #963951What happened to the days when a cop would holler “stop or I’ll shoot” and does. Now every cop show you see, every one has to be a track star to run them down. I still believe that when they say stop, this means bad consequences for the perp, the heck with all this running crap.
May 2, 2011 at 2:01 am #962443Don’t these suits have to be resprayed once in a while to remain water proof? I washed mine and had to retreat it to bring it back up to parr.

Dave, check out the Iball. It is the type with the magnetic camera and the monitor is on a flexible arm that plugs right in the cig lighter. I don’t have one but have seen one in action. They work pretty well.
I’m pretty sure that’s what I have, works good, the truck isn’t here right now to check.
April 22, 2011 at 9:37 pm #959853I have a camera with magnet on it and sticks to the tailgate and the reciever just plugs in cig. lighter. No wires, works great. I got it on Ebay for less than $100.00.
April 11, 2011 at 12:09 am #955768The cheapest meat for a lot of people that can be prepared on the grill would be a pork loin. Pick a favorite rub and wrapped in tin foil cooked and sliced could feed a lot of people very reasonable. Sides would be your choice of favorites with potatoes etc.
February 9, 2011 at 2:10 pm #935468I wonder how many died in building that path. Have to give a lot of credit to whoever built it, that would have been quite a feat to accomplish.
January 13, 2011 at 1:28 pm #925902I want to thank every one for their prayers and best wishes. June was truly a terrific person. She was the go to person when you wanted to get something done. She truly devoted her life to her kids and friends that needed a helping hand. If there was a birthdays party, anniversary, graduation or just a get together, my garage got cleaned out and she was on a roll. Her nieces and nephews could’nt get married, have a baby or a graduation without her getting involved, and of course I got dragged in to all of it willing or not. Because of the nature of our business we were together 24/7 and she was truly a friend, soulmate and the love of my life. She was truly the caretaker of me and all her children, grandchildren and her mother who is still alive. She was diagnosed with no cure in sight and carried the fight to the end. Thank you all so much for providing her with ongoing banter on the site, she read it at least twice a day if not more.
November 17, 2010 at 1:16 am #910245I live in the country and about 4 years ago installed a 13kw Guardian. It self test every week and is set up with LP. Have’nt had to use it much but the piece of mind when the power goes out is “priceless”. The unit came with everything you need to wire it up including the tranfer switch. I was able to wire it up myself except for making the tranfer from my box to the tranfer switch. Considering the one time cost to do this and looking at the what it could cost you with a long outage, it’s cheap insurance with only one premium for as long as you own your home.
Yes it would pay for a motel or you could rent a generator, but you better be first in line because you generally are’nt the only one without power. When we have an outage will you be home to run your cords and fire it up? Roads could be impassable and the weather would be at it’s worst and during this type of situation you have your family to gather and tend to with out having to try and rig up some sort of piecemeal generator sytem. Been there done that, not doing it again. I’ll never own a home without a back up system. Sorry about the rant, we generally urine away more money on lures and fishing stuff than it would cost to put a decent system in to protect our family and home.I’m not an electrician but any time that you plug something into a generator with out taking it out of your electrical sytem creates feed back and when power is restored I’m not sure what happens, some one correct if I’m wrong or could shed more light on this subject.
October 30, 2010 at 2:24 am #906979There probably isn’t a lot of difference in the boat, but the motor would probably be much improved. So may be the electronics if it has any. I’v looked at the new ones and everything is comparable except for the rod lockers when comparing my ’02’ to new. They both float, and mine gets me on the water for a lot less $$$$.
September 30, 2010 at 3:28 am #901646We didn’t get flooded by the high water, but since we are at the bottom of a basin our culverts got clogged up with wood and debris which caused it to run down the driveway and wash out some of the driveway. We have a large hill back behind the house and have a couple of mud slides that came down to within 8 ft of the house. Once the ground firms up I’ll load it out with skidsteer. Some wash outs on some of our other driveways. It just gives us an opportunity to play with our farm toys. Thanks for asking BK.
JimMay 24, 2010 at 3:31 am #874199Just got back from Red Cedar and the fishing was O.K. We did mostly panfishing and ended up with 10 to 20 Crappie each day, ranging from 10 to 13 inches. Caught a lot of small mouth and the keeper range is 14″, Walley is 18″. All the small mouth lived to see another day, In our group a few fished for Walleye and got a couple of keepers, The wind picked up during the weekend and made it little more difficult. The sunfish that were kept were in 3/4 lb. range, real nice. The crappies still had eggs in them and water temp is right at 62 to 65 degrees. Caught fish in Hemlock,Balsam and Red Cedar. You did have to work for them. Hope you have a great time.
May 16, 2010 at 4:08 am #872282Last winter I installed a 3 bank and put it under my driver side console. Out of the way and generally a dry area. I did have to get special extension from mfg to extend my lead to the starting battery, Warranty would have been voided if I used any other type of an extension other than what was provided by the mfg. Just my .02 worth.
May 12, 2010 at 3:48 pm #840645I installed the “Shock Master seat suspension system” last winter. I haven’t had the opportunity to really test them out but the cost is reasonable and installation was simple. They are a relatively new product, just google them up and you will find info and reports on them. At least it’s another choice.
May 7, 2010 at 10:01 pm #870382I agree with electrical problem, next time it happens move your shifter, you already have done the kill switch, could even be in the key switch, There is a loose wire some where.
April 6, 2010 at 1:19 pm #861121We bought 2 of them, both electric, one from Home depot, and one at Walmart. The Home Depot was a Husky brand, the Walmart is the Karcher. They both are very comparable in pressure and cleaning results. We also have a large pressure washer with a gas motor that we use for big jobs, like cleaning equipment or washing down the barns, but the electric works great for cleaning vehicles, boat, vinyl siding, vinyl decking and other project that you don’t want to damage with too much pressure.
Husky link – best photo I could find is on Ebay
We have had the Karcher for about 4 years, and the Husky about 3. My sister-in-law has had her Karcher for about 9 years. She had one problem with it after 4 years, wrote the company and they sent her all new parts, no charge.

April 3, 2010 at 8:02 pm #860409The pressure in your bladder should be close to your cut off switch pressure. I f you screw this up and add pressure it will cause your pump to short cycle. Adding pressure to the bladder will not increase your water pressure. You have to adjust your pressure switch to increase water pressure but than you also have to reset your on and off pressure. Most homes run a 20/40 pressure switch, you can buy a 30/50 to increase your pressure. As mentioned before, make sure that screens are clear etc.

BK, I have a cat called ‘dog’ already, could get confusing in the house? Let’s keep in mind that I will have to call her in the field while bird hunting….
My Dad had beagles when we wee kids….one at a time…..but they were all named Bell. When we wanted to name a new one any different, he would say, “If you can come up with a one syllable name that will ring clear in the woods better than Bell, we will change it.” We never did come up with a different name.
Just saying, keeping that in mind, it would be hard to get a sharp, clear call out to the dog if the name is too long, or has a soft start to the name, like Heidi for example.
