No, I cannot find a post in the catfish forum better then yours. Sorry to inflate your ego a bit, but you are the person I would appreciate a bit of advice from and Lord knows when it comes to mudcats I need it.

I guess this post is getting a bit strange for a Bass board, but I am good at directing my questions to the right people.

My kid has had problems with the Agua-Vu, albeit the service has been OK. On our end the problem seems to rest with the quality of the product.

Thanks, perhaps like slipsinker it is time to leave. When a guy who perhaps has 10% of the posts on this board tells you to read a book even thought you never asked about specific spots, and fish several pools below this mudcat king it maybe time to leave.

Again, this has nothing to do with the Bass forum, but the original posted raised questions I have asked for two years and generally they get deleted.

    It is not just you.

Whether it is who can advertise, getting posts deleted or the Pool Four group I agree to an extent. This board is strickly controlled and in many cases not that helpful.

And when you ask for advice, not about specific fishing spots, but general info and the guy (Briank) responds by telling you to read a book you lose a bit of respect for some of the folks on this board, including the afore-mentioned person.

However, James did remind me that in regard to fishing I can post anything I want about whatever river pool I fish. So unlike Slipsinker I will hang around for a bit. Nonetheless, I suspect about 90% of postings are from a group of twelve of less, and in most respects they tend to be a bit self-serving.

As for the most helpful folks, Chris Tuckner, Tom Donaldson and Gary Wellman. The least Briank, without a doubt. As for the best dealership, Smitty’s.

Almost time to leave. Regarding my frustration I could give several examples, but the moderator will probably eliminate this post, because the so-called group really does control your posts.

As a graduate of Winona State I wish the Basketball Team got a bit more press. Anyway, thanks for letting us know; I can wait till Sunday to put the boat dock in.

My hunch is you will regret a large tiller; an opinion based on the fact that the few people I have known with kids eventually changed to a console.

Trolling plates have not been highly recommended on this board, but maybe I will give one a try.

The option is buckets or a trolling motor.

Considering you will have four people on board at times I would recommend a console, and a boat no smaller then 2Catch1’s 16.5 foot Alumincraft, albeit a slightly larger boat with a 115HP motor would probably be a better choice.

If the motor is actually 115HP my estimate is high 30’s, low 40’s.

P.S. How fast do you want to go???

Thanks for posting. I am more of a Walleye guy but ran into numerous largemouths in 2005 on Pool 5A and couldn’t believe my catch. Over 40 bass, all on topwaters and almost all legal. Rather then the same old stuff it was nice to read the article you posted.

First upgrade, you won’t regret it.

Among the two motors my personal preference would be the Yamaha.

There are options, but I suspect Pool 4 will produce a bit more. Neither the Alma Dam or Whitman are as crowded, and Whitman has done well for me in the spring.

When it comes to fishing I just prefer not being part of the 100 plus boats at Pool 4.

I hope you are right but doubt it. I am not a big Randy Moss fan, but a Moss for Rogers trade would be fine.

If you haven’t resolved the problem contact 2catch1 the guy will guide you through any necessary fixes.

I tried one on an 11 Hydro and it was a disaster. If possible just raise the motor a few inches without using a jack plate.

If you still want a jack plate find one that extends straight up from the trannsom. Those that extend beyond tend to create more problems then they resolve.

I am a bit confused; doesn’t the hotel have all that info anyway when they run your credit card at check-in. Aside from that your maximum liability for false credit card charges is $50.00.

From one Cheese head to another, Minnesota just has a better Hockey Team and it doesn’t take brain surgery to figure that out. The Badgers have had a terrible year.

So this Cheese head will be rooting for Minnesota and I hope they win the NCAA Tournement.

They will make it to the sweet 16 and then lose. Just my prediction, but I am tied for first in our NCAA Pool.

Take it back, get a refund, and with a boat as nice as yours looks get a custom made cover for it. Unlike most of the guys on this post I am not as big a fan of Cabela’s mostly because quality is not always #1.

Highly unlikely, but if you happen to live is SE Wisconsin let me know and I will E Mail you a great place to get a new cover.

The same thing here on the Milwaukee River about fifteen miles north of downtown. The roads are underwater and people are beginning to move their vehicles up to higher ground. The river is rising about an inch every two hours which may not sound like much, but another foot and it is in the garage.

I was suprised one of mine got deleted about a month ago. The joke was abut politicians, but no specific parties or individuals. I was careful to avoid the Hillary, Bill, GW jokes, etc.

In hindsight, I suppose if someone loved politicians that might have gotten upset.

I am not sure where you reside, but if you are close to Lake City check out Smitty’s Marine. The guys are honest and direct, and if you would have a problem my hunch is their service department would do a nice job resolving it.

Finally, I never bought a rig from them, prodominately because I live in SE Wisconsin and they don’t handle Crestliner. Nonetheless, my gut feeling when talking to these guys was there dealership is first class.

    Gary,

I am a little confused by your post. I thought Minnesota allowed two lines, at least on the Mississippi.

As for the initial questions I reside in Wisconsin and am allowed three lines on the Mississippi River.

    1. My use of three is about 25% of the time, mostly bottom fishing, and practicing CPR I don’t think the additional line hurts the fishery. Ironically perhaps, when trolling I use only one line.

    2. I don’t think poaching is a major issue when it comes to number of lines.

    3. I already use three lines periodically so the question is mute for us Wisconsin folks.

My kids and I do make an annual trip to Rainy Lake and stay on the Minnesota side. For whatever reason I don’t remember ever using more then one line so perhaps that is what Gary is referring to. I would prefer multiple lines, but don’t have enough info on Lake Fishing to render an informed opinion.

    Bill,

have a specialist check it out. A few years ago my regular doc sent me to a specialist because of a mole on my arm. I probably have a half dozen or more moles but for whatever reason the doc was concerned about this one. To make a long story short the doctor was right and I had skin cancer. Fortunately it had not spread and they were able to cut it out. For the first year I went back every three months for check-ups and now it is every six months.

A word of advice. Make sure you thoroughly trust the phisician you see. About six years ago my sister-in-law had skin cancer (melanoma) on her back. The doctor performed surgery, but missed some of the cancerous tissue. The cancer spread and by the time she got to the Mayo Clinic it was too late. The cancer had literally spread to her brain and she died on the operating table. This is serious if not caught early on.

Great point. A few years ago my regular physician sent me to a specialist to examine a small mole on my arm. The doctor discovered I had melanoma (spelling). Thankfully, it was caught early on and had not spread. This type of cancer is very dangerous and if I hadn’t gotten that physical I doubt I would be writing this.

As an aside I am 59 years old and also requested a stress test because friends have died from heart attacks and strokes.

We could go on and on. There are more Ford Trucks on the road because they produced and sold more of the F-Series Truck. Yet the company’s financial condition is horrible and the stock price reflects that, which is a good indication of how the company is really doing.

I am not sure what you meant when you said the frame, body and suspension of the Toyota Truck was not impressive. Do you mean lower quality then the American Trucks, or just something you don’t personally like.

Kevin, I know most people recommend you not buy an extended warranty, but the cost of labor has gotten so high if anything serious happens I would rather have that protection. Nonetheless, I haven’t purchased it yet because my son can fix most any problem, aside from transmissions.

My son’s comments regarding engine problems are based on his experiences with his GM Tahao and an older Ford Ranger I have, as well as the number of new chevy’s he services at the learship he is employed by.

Last summer we put a new engine in the Tahoe at 90,000 miles. A few weeks ago the 4.0L Ford Ranger had a cracked head and a chipped value, so it was time to install new heads at 160,000 miles. The Ford has also had a new transmission and the Chevy is getting one as we speak.

As for Toyota’s, we have owned one Toyota Pick-Up and two 4-Runners. Mechanical problems were always minimal, although the pick-up had plenty of rust problems. The major reason for no longer owning these vehicles was lack of power. None of the trucks performed well when towed at or near their listed towing capacities; hoever, these were all 1990’s vehicles.
