I have been using the LX-5 for years now.. I love it for the back waters on the Mississippi River.. Under 10 feet of water… I have used it with 18″ of ice and 2 feet of water when you would bet that the big crappies were coming in sideways under the ice,,,,

My nod get the LX-5 every time !!!

Hi Dave! How are you positioning your transducer? I just got the M5, upgraded from Ice35, and an having a hard time getting good readings above three ft in 7 ft of water. My ducer is just under the ice. You mentioned using yours in 18 to 24in of water. Please share!

So…. This is basically an Android Tablet juiced way up with some amazing software. What, if anything is going to keep this device running in a 3 to 4 year timespan when the system can no longer update and the unit, minus the sonar, is obsolete? Dont get me wrong… this looks AMAZING!!! I wouldnt mind having one myself but there are ways to get an amazing tablet, with internet and gps, without all of the other stuff, apps, getting in the way. Now correct me if I am wrong.

All input appreciated and even more so from someone who knows all the ins and outs of this device. Maybe some of the things I have mentioned are already being considered. Hopefully this is not a foresighted design.
