Here are some bright little cranks to mess with crappie minds….
The hot pink baits here actually do have a very faint lines like the other baits have. I used a clear coat with blue hi lite and a wee tiny bit of blue pearl paint to make the stripes and in the mixing cut the color was nice. On the bait its too lean on pigment. I know where the stripes are but the picture in good light nixes them from being seen. Another challenge for next time.
All of these baits are un-weighted and when cast with a small split shot pinched on the 4 pound line about 20 inches ahead of the lure they have really nice action. On the #4 line with a tiny clip they have a super nice wiggle on a medium retrieve with side to side travel of about two inches. It takes very little weight to get these small cranks to sink down to crappie level. I can’t wait to try them on a drop shot type of presentation….or a small 3-way while drifting in the wind or even trolling with the electric.
