Do-It molds has introduced a new 1″ ice bait cnc mold that is a 20 cavity number. I’ve injected the mold several times and its an easy worker. The bait’s body is slightly squarish and 1/4″ in length with rounded edges. The tail section is slightly flattened and very thin and tapers down to nothing at the end. The bait cannot be held between your fingers and the tail kept from moving.

For those with patience, two color baits are possible here, but I am not sure what the welds will yield. I held pressure when the injector stopped and my welds seem to be fine having given them a tug test.

As for the balancing act, these little guys fit on both the gill pill and diamond jigs nicely as well as a Ratso jig. They are perfect under Shrimpo or a jigging spoon for some color. I also hung one on a 1/80 ounce conventional jig with a #10 hook and the balance, again, was fine.

I’m not certain what the pricing is on this mold yet, but will get it up as soon as I know. For you guys that inject your own baits and are looking for a nice, easy to shoot panfish mold, this is it.

Hey bud, long time no hear! How are you?

No, the mold is a production cut and I was told that they have several shelved but are waiting to up-date their store’s panfish mold page. I think the mold will be on line by Friday. I think. You can always just call the company and ask for Ryan and mention the mold. He’ll work with you.

I think they like to have plenty in inventory before they make a public announcement for sales.

The mold I got is a tight mother. Like the halves snap together and I could not get it to flash even though it takes a single clamp. I don’t think there’s much more than a teaspoon of plastic in there. When you start the injection you are done about the same instant. And the mold fills cold too. I took the mold from the box, wiped it off, and went right out to the shop and shot it ice cold and it did fine. Its hard not to like it.

The body shape is other than I mentioned earlier. I got to looking at it under a magnifying glass and the body is four tube shaped cuts stacked two on two to form a rounded square. Think of 4 hotdogs stacked like that and viewed from the end. I don’t think the widest part is more than 1/8″, if that. The absence of weight in this along with that super active tail are all plusses to the bait. Give Do-It a call and ask for Ryan if you want to get a mold headed your way before the announcement.

It’s been a crappy winter for fishing by me. Think I’m heading to lacrosse to chase perch next week. That mold really looks awesome! I’m going to call Ryan tomorrow and get that baby ordered. I need another box of essential and softner also. Thanks for posting the info! I hope they get into more panfish molds I like to deal with them much better than anybody else!
