Got my new heavy teardrop mold. If I ever get out these will be nice for 3 way rigs in the heavy current.

I run a 5/0 on every tear drop from 1/16 to 1-1/2 oz for pitching plastics, running 3-ways, etc.

Netted a lot of eyeballs this winter that loved the 1-1/2 oz. Sometimes it is the size of head they care about. ;)

For some smaller applications I’ll downsize the hook to stock size.

    2c

    Enjoy.

The pictured are 4/0 and I did a bunch with mustad 5/0. Why don’t you like sickle hooks FishBood&RiverMud?

I prefer a round bend so when under stress the whole radius (gap) flexes versus a defined v section that sees all the movement and yawns open moreso that a round bend.

    Personal preference really.

Your going to love your jigs.

I would highly suggest bending the hooks like I have shown in a separate thread for increasing hookups with jigs.
I can find that thread of you cannot or are interested.

    5/0 on a 1/16oz head… I like it!! I’ve poured 3/0 [1/16] and a 4/0 [1/8] but never the 5/0 [1/16] combo. You should post a pic FBRM
