The Go-Go Grub measures 2 inches in its relaxed state [2.5 extended] and the Beetle Bug is a 2.25″ bait. These are easy injectors and, as seen in the picture, the two-color possibilities are almost limitless by cutting tails, re-inserting them in the mold then re-injecting a second body color. Fun molds, fun baits….both are Do-It Mold’s creations.

    Hi Tom,

Those baits look great. How long have you been doing your own baits and how many molds have you accumulated over the years? Its something I have thought about doing with the grandson.

I’ve been casting jigs since I was 15. I took up the plastics maybe 9 years ago and have in the neighborhood of 30 different molds today. I have never counted really. Most are cnc cut aluminum molds and a few are sand cast. I have a few from Europe too. Most of the molds are panfish or walleye sized mold but I have a few frog and crawfish molds too and a tube mold. The tubes get used for Lake Trout.

Check out Do-Itmolds.com and look at their “Essential” series of molds and the products that companion with them. Its a great way to open a door to a wonderful hobby and their forums have a ton of informative reading that can make starting quiet easy.

I’ll answer questions anyone has about the injection process or components or issues they may encounter. Anyone that wants to see the process first hand can certainly call and set up a time to do so here at home. Seeing it done and having the opportunity to get “hands-on” is a huge benefit.

Thanks for the info. Wish I lived closer to see your set up and process up close.
