Good job! I’m new to this site and moved away from Minnesota 6 years but still head up once a year to do some ice fishing. I actually like ice more than open water.
I’ve had some good luck in the past on some north metro lakes. The winter before I moved I got a 30″ eye from white bear, a 28″eye from Minnetonka and a bunch of nice ones from white bear, bone and bald eagle. It was always hit and miss though.
I always stayed away from crowds and drilled plenty of holes before prime time. Like another poster said, finding green weeds at this time of year is important. Staying shallow 6-12 feet near prime time.
I’ll be up next week so if anyone sees a car on the ice with oklahoma plates feel free to stop by.
