Purchased a new Yukon T/C just getting started in ice fishing. Wondering what some are using for LED lights inside, I have a small 12V sealed battery I can use. Would also like to find a tote or something to place inside the two seats to put items.

just red the thread about buddy cookers and I plan to visit fleet farm tomorrow to look for a grate

thanks for any mod tips or ideas

I bought a Yukon t/c last year and absolutely love it. I bought and installed Clam’s light bar and I love that as well. I pointed it at an angle towards the door, instead of straight down and it is perfect.

I also purchased Clam’s center console (the same one that comes in the Voyager), and so far it has been useful.

One more small thing that I highly suggest is buying some coat hangers (Clam and Frabil both make some) and attaching them the the very rear support beam. My yukon heats up in just a few minutes with a big buddy, and having the coat hangers allows you to be comfortable while keeping your coat dry and put of the way.

I always carry a bottle of spray lubricant (wd40, or even vegetable oil) because the chair sliders seem to get sticky after sitting cold and unused for a week or so. It’s nice to be able to just spray the seat track whenever you feel the need, and you can also spray the tent poles so they extend out and fold up easier.

I’m assuming you don’t have the all thermal Yukon. As with all tents that aren’t thermal, the fabric gets wet. I always be sure to set my tent up in my garage after a night of fishing and run my buddy heater inside the tent or at least dry off the wall with a towel. I don’t know if this is necessary, but I just don’t like when the water on the fabric freezes.

I do not have the sled runner kit, but I am considering getting it. I pulled my sled a mile by hand through a few inches of inconsistent snow a few days ago and I still feel out of breath. Can anyone share if the runner kit would help with that?

Enjoy your new fish house and best of luck this season!

Check eBay for strips of LED lights. Zip tie them to the center bar , not too tight though. Run the wiring down one of the side bars to your battery. My brother in law had them in his Voyager and now has them in his Otter and they work well. I considered them for my Big Foot hub but went a different route. You can get the lights and wiring for pretty cheap, I don’t think he spent more than $20 and spent about a half hour cutting them to fit and wiring. I’ll second the coat hangers….they are a must have.

Thanks guys for the replies, I have the Yukon with the insulated top. Could not afford the all thermal unit. I fish with my son who caught a really nice crappie last year and it got us hooked. We fished with a borrowed hut last year where we sat on buckets but had a blast.

I will look at the coat hangers also

I had a bit of a construction project on mine. Don’t use it much, but the seating helped a ton.

There seats are mounted to the original swivels, but on rails so the slide. When slid to the outside, and reclined together, the two seats become a bench seat.

In the center hatch between the seats, I have a battery and switche’s that control a light bar that clips to the frame hoops.

I built the light bar. used adhesive backed LED strips from ebay/amazon. 2 bright white strips, and 1 UV strip.

Get the Frabill hangers. They’re sturdier than the Clams.
