“This was last night at the lake waconia boat access. Last week they were playing catch with a football and another night they were chasing each other with the grabbers they use to pull weeds off.”

I spose it’s a pretty boring job. coffee

I think Tim had a very good idea. Rakes and bags to keep the area clean. I’m sure there’s some shoreline weeds that could be cleaned up.

Um horseplay takes place at most jobs (Government and Private…). Ever drive by a road work project? C’mon guys seriously. You can hate everything AIS but don’t be ridiculous…RR

I’m just upset the guy with the guitar doesn’t know any David Allen Coe, and can’t crank it up to 11!!! peace Even if they were required to keep the lot and landing clean these kids would still have hours and hours of downtime. Personally I’d rather see them playing guitar or football, than being glued to their phones.

So playing the guitar is acceptable? Could you do that your job? Or toss a football around? Or chase a coworker with a grabber?

I was coming off of a lake last Thursday at 4:52pm. The guy saw us coming, pulled out his flag and hopped in his truck and drove away at 4:53. I would assume he worked until 5?

Where are all the reports you have made regarding all the ways folks are ignoring the rules? How many times have you suggest folks getting with the program? Maybe we could funding AIS and divert the dollars to building stadiums for Billionaires? Oops we already do that, did you report this to?

Well I did ask if they could direct traffic a little when it was busy and the kid acted like it wasn’t in his job description.

On friday and sunday they seemed like they were having a good time. I did not here any koom-bye-ya songs around the campfire they were roasting marshmallows around.

On a side note, they have not asked to see inside my livewell this year.

Keep complaining, but you’d be drowning in Zeebs without them coffee

You guys would have probably whined about me as a teenager working for the city. You’d also be the person who’d find yellow patches of lawn by the curb after a little drift from my herbicide nozzle touched your turf. flame

Yes to your first question. And for the rest: No, but I also don’t have a seasonal outdoor job paying minimum wage with other teenagers. When I did have a similar job, I’m sure we did similar things.

That picture does not bother me at all. Probably because I think the program is a waste of time and money because the program is trying to prevent the inevitable. Given enough time, the AIS program will not prevent anything.

If the state is stupid enough to spend money on these things then I have no problem with these guys making the most of their down time.

    For real?

We probably wouldn’t have them at all if not for ballast water on international ships, but it’s these guys that are saving our resources from stuff that’s highly unregulated coming from international waters?

The fact the supervisor is OK with the down time should be a wake up call to people who think this program is an effective and efficient use of funds. Keep voting democratic Minnesota, then wondering why we are taxed and regulated to death.

I have suggested that the inspectors in their spare time rake the weeds from the access.
No need for the use of a grabber if no weeds are present.
I have also retrieved my boat after a big boat power loaded at a weedy access. My boat and trailer was covered with fine chopped up weeds and organic material. There was no way to remove all of the materials at the access; so I had to bring the boat/trailer home and wash it off.
As the law reads I had a illegal boat/trailer traveling down the highway and could have received a fine.
