Mine’s the swimming events. I used to be a competitive swimmer many years ago. The sprint track events would be a close second.

The summer olympics in Tokyo start in 2.5 weeks.

    Track and field.

I was in Japan in July of 2016, mostly in Tokyo. They were already advertising heavily for the olympics.

Would like to watch some of the wrestling this year. 2 of my boys wrestle and one of my sons coach is a 2 time Olympian and tried out again this year for the Greco team but didn’t make it.

I wrestled Dennis Hall, world champion from WI at a National Tourney in high school, he tossed me around but I lasted the whole match!

Im looking forward to Kyle Dake, he looked like amazing in the trials. Also MN’s own and future WWE star Gable Stevenson!

I’ve always enjoyed the swimming relays, both men’s and women’s. My wife swam in college so I’ve definitely grown to appreciate it. I believe it was Beijing where the French men’s relay team was talking a bunch of trash pre-race and we ended up beating them in a nail biter. I’ll never forget standing in my parent’s basement screaming at the tv! Gymnastics is darn impressive too, and always enjoy watching the pommel horse and uneven bars.

Dake did look awesome in the trials (and I’ve always thought he’s kind of a boring wrestler). Can’t wait to see what Gable can do! Snyder is fun to watch, too.

i googled the lineup so to speak for the games and guess i didnt see a whole lot of events that would trip my trigger so to speak.

track and field is good, but the gymnastics would be good to watch. what these athletes can accomplih is truly amazing, especially for someone thats challenged to walk threw a woods trying not to fall on my face in brush!!! whistling jester

Part of the reason I enjoy watching it is that team USA generally finishes with the highest medal count during the summer olympics. We dominate several events including swimming and gymnastics. Winter olympics is tougher sledding because countries like Canada and Norway often finish ahead of us.

The cynic in me thinks we just outspend most of the world. The training facilities for these people are amazing. I have no illusion that this is truly “amateur” sports anymore.

But if NBC deems it must watch I guess lots of people will watch which is ok.

x3 on Gable! I don’t follow wrestling much, but thought Mark Hall was the next great coming out of HS, but sounds like there’s a couple guys that he needs to pass up.
