I truly hope all goes well for all spectators that are here to enjoy the game although I don’t have a clue why anyone would travel to see a game that they can see better on TV, drinking Hamm’s that’s not offered at the over priced game with the Favorite Little Lady making a Spam and onion samitch at half time.

But to each their own. I’ll be kicking back with the Favorite Granddaughter and fam in the hot tub at the Red Wing Super 8, bowling next door with a swing into the bierstube at some point.

I thought this bumper sticker was a hoot and thought I would share.

Please don’t go Philly or Postal on me!

That’s funny BK! And your plans sound about perfect. I’ll probably whip up something good to eat and fall asleep during the second half, no SB party this year.

I’m tied of the branded phrase “Bold North”. There is nothing bold about being Minnesotan. Nothing…. coffee

I really really hope everyone is safe. I’m not a praying man, but I do on this.

It’s not new MN has a very high immigrant population, who have been here for years, who have been working for the city and convention centers and hotels, etc YEARS prior. Through their families it’s hard not to think of people forced into positions that they no way otherwise would be.

Don’t take it as a doom and gloom, but it does just take one D-bag to F alot of stuff up.

The security presence is pretty crazy. National guard in humvees block intersections to protect pedestrians on Nicollet from car attacks. Never thought I would see that.

I wasn’t interested in checking it out but I’m have a case of FOMO now. I only live 4 miles from downtown so we might venture down Saturday. Might as well go at the height of the craziness.

Not tired of it at all. I’m not going anywhere near the place but I think it’s a great opportunity for kids to see what it’s all about. For some it will be a tough choice between making a rent payment of taking their family of four to the gouge fest but it will be another 25 years before it’s back.

We may venture out to a pre game party featuring Simon and Morris from the puppy bowl. Might adopt a celebrity.

I did. Wasn’t a bad game at all! Wasn’t the knock’em sock’em type regular season game but was pretty entertaining. And the Vikings players done good.

Wow…something else they prepared for, how many different ways to inflict mass murdering? But then they executed people in the 1600’s for being fingered for witchcraft.

I work downtown, 1 block off Nicollet between 8th and 9th streets. Just a block from the epicenter of the “Big Stage”…can hear the music start pounding early afternoon. Being so close and easy to stroll over, I have been pondering whether to walk over and look just to say I was there? I haven’t yet, and not sure that I will. So…no, not really caught up in the hoopla. Guess I’ve seen plenty of these type of things in my day.

Saturday morning I’ll be heading up to relax at Mille Lacs for more ice fishing in a warm wooden fish house. Spend the night out there again and then head home Sunday to visit with the grandkids. Probably have the game on, can only watch so much Elmo. tongue

I have a 2 and a half year old so I understand the Elmo thing, Andy. Funny thing is she is also a football fan but this is the last game of the season, though!

I worked downtown for the last 6 years but just took a job in Plymouth. I miss downtown!

I will be enjoying downtown for the next 5 days working night shift on the ambulance. Not looking forward to it one bit. Hope to god there is no mass casualty incidents, but if there is I feel like the city of Minneapolis is prepared. We have been preparing for the weekend for over a year. My guess is there will be an increase of intoxicated individuals who I will be spending most of my time with, and I probably won’t be getting off on time every morning. Everyone fishing this weekend I envy you.

I think I would enjoy sports more if it wasn’t for all of the networks beating to death each week different drama within each organization. “Someone said this, someone did that.” Sports used to be about the game, but since drama fuels everything media related, it seems it’s never truly about the game anymore, just the drama off of the field/court.

Ever since 2014 when they announced the SB would be here I had planned on being around some of the festivities just to experience it and see what this once-in-a-quarter-centry (if that) experience was like. I’ve actually been working in a certain capacity for some pre-events and will be working there Sunday as well, so I have gotten to see a lot of what’s going on. Someone on here mentioned FOMO; I would honestly recommend checking things out just to see how crazy some of the changes are. I’ve been at the stadium quite a bit and also at the Convention Center once, and now I’m wishing I would’ve tried harder to work the Mall to see the Radio Row setup and all the celebrities and NFL players there. I almost always try and avoid crowds and pop culture but because of the rarity of this event I’m glad to have seen and been a small part of it.

Think what a zoo it would be if the vikings were in it. I doubt I’ll ever have to worry about that……

Still love watching the games, but def agree. Getting tired of how slow football has gotten over the last several years too. People complain about baseball, but honestly, football can be every bit as slow now with all the stoppages, midfield conferences, long halftimes…. all that said, I’ll still be watching on Sun ;-)

My thoughts are Vince is taking another shot at the XFL because nobody will sell him a NFL franchise. The old boys club is alive and well in the NFL and they don’t want any clowns except Jerry Jones.

Actually the NFL is vulnerable… that is why XFL see’s an opening. Imagine if they stand in the XFL for the anthem, what it would do for their league ! jester

Lots of local performers involved in this weekends show. The half time show is mostly made up of local dance groups. They have been putting in long hours this week getting ready for this. We are very excited as Im sure many other families in the area to.
