You can teach an old dog a new trick

When I target gills I usually tie on a 1/32 oz tungsten jig as I did today and jig with the noodle. I proceeded to catch several fish but only a few that could be considered keepers. I picked up a few of the new Slab Raps and decided to try these with a couple of waxies and proceeded to put a beat down on big gills. Really eliminated the little biters. Kept a nice mess for fish tacos this weekend and probably threw back another 20-25 6″-8″ gills. Fish were very aggressive with this presentation. Have never tried this before and have to admit I saw Jason Mitchell doing this with Chubby Darters on old episode and thought the Slap Raps might do the same thing. One crappie just inhaled the uv perch. Can’t wait to try these Slab Raps more this winter just need to add a few more to the tackle box. Sorry for the upside down piç, lucky I even got it attached.
