My friend bought his boat heavily used about 12 years ago and used it hard himself. He just sold it for $6,000 more than he paid for it. It sold in less than 24 hours.

I have $$$ to spend and have missed out on
23 boats this week. Prices are high and they’re moving fast!August 16, 2020 at 6:16 pm #1965643I will have a 2190 Skeeter for sale this fall if nothing changes
August 16, 2020 at 6:41 pm #1965652I’m starting to see the market get a bit more saturated than it was just a few weeks ago. Prices are still absurd, but that’s always the case with the many free sites to sell things that on. I’ve got quite a few friends who buy something they want but don’t need, then post it on Marketplace in the cities for a decent hike and usually make $.
There’s definitely a “sweet spot” to buying. Too early during peak demand season of Summer and everyone wants beyond top dollar. Buy too late and everyone knows they might make more by paying for storage (or already have storage) and selling at a premium in April or May.
August 16, 2020 at 6:51 pm #1965654I have a 1790 Skeeter and will store it for the winter for you.
Can’t beat that right?
Still need to clean it up but mostly just the cover. Boat is clean underneath.
2000 glass tiller with 2014 yamaha 70. Seems small but no problem getting 32 to 35 mph.
Haven’t advertised it yet until I get it spiffed up. And yeah, the price will reflect the spiffing.August 23, 2020 at 4:05 pm #1967470Well, it only took a couple of hours and my boat sold! Time to start shopping!

Have fun shopping. I changed my mind at least a half dozen times before I pulled the trigger. Now I’m just dying a slow death waiting for it to finish being rigged so that I can go pick it up.

Is this the rig that got stolen last year and cut up with a chainsaw?

August 24, 2020 at 7:04 am #1967573Lol… The stolen was a 518 Comanche, replaced By this 521… Both these were back up boats for the pro tour, Forrest Wood signed my 518 when I bought it. My 521 had 7hrs on it when purchased.
August 24, 2020 at 10:13 am #1967640It is what it is. Much goes into the price of a boat. People have to be paid all along the way, supplies and raw materials purchased, shipping across the nation and much, much more. People should be so lucky their boats held up with such good resale value. It is amazing how many people want to get paid well for the work they do, yet turn around and think everything costs too much. All you need to fish is rod, reel, line, sinker, hook and a crawler- heck that will catch even a muskie in the right place. Boats cost what they do, big deal. It’s a want, not a need. Think our world is expensive, price out salt water stuff. Wait a year, there will be plenty of ice castles, campers and boats on the market from people impulse buying.
