Just like Trump would handle a disagreement. Not surprised at all.

NRA response doesn’t sound like fear mongering to me.

    DATE: April 24, 2018
TO: USF & NRA Member and Friends
    FROM: Marion P. Hammer
    USF Executive Director
    NRA Past President

If it wasn’t bad enough that YETI dropped The NRA Foundation as a client, now they’re calling us liars because we informed our members and friends of their actions.

The NRA Foundation has over 1,100 “Friends of NRA Committees” around the country. These committees host banquets and auctions that are attended by hundreds of thousands of guests each year. These events raise funds to support charitable causes and programs. The NRA Foundation supports the needs of youth programs for education, safety and training, as well as law enforcement needs, shooting ranges and conservation programs.

For many years we have purchased coolers from YETI for our auctions. We have auctioned off many thousands of YETI coolers each year. YETI recently dropped The NRA Foundation as a client. Not only would they not take our orders for more coolers, they forced us to cancel orders already in the system that they said they would not fill.

Three days after we notified you of YETI’s decision to drop The NRA Foundation, YETI issued their prepared statement in which they admit they dropped us but claim they simply eliminated the discount program and dropped other (unnamed) organizations as well. That’s news to us.

Perhaps the people writing YETI’s damage control statements are not talking to the people who enforced YETI’s decisions and refused our orders. We had even offered the YETI Roadie in one of our sponsorship levels for 2018 – which we’ve had to cancel.

    We told you the truth.

YETI’s attempts at damage control is to say our statement is not accurate. Shame on you again YETI. You know you made a mistake. A big one. Now you must live with your mistake.

Why even release a statement at all? Is it to make yeti look bad to NRA members to effect yeti sales? That’s what it looks like to me. Childish way to handle things. Yep, you don’t agree with the NRA they will try take you down.
Can not say I can really trust what the NRA really has to say when the bottom line is about themselves.

There is PC and then there is PS… plain stupid. “Maybe it was a business decision”… not based on politics ?? My god, there are some stupid people here… my arm chair is fine, come out of your moms basement once in awhile.

How Trump would handle a disagreement ? Are you saying a subtle suicide by the NRA would have been better, maybe YETI can donate to the Clinton Foundation instead ? The Killary way ? Again… too PS. (oh wait, that “charity” folded when she lost all power) LOL !!! jester

it “cut ties” with numerous buying programs apparently. not just the NRA. hardly used buying programs are used to build a base. once a company reaches the status level that yeti has it makes sense to stop.

the hunting market is a tiny market in the cooler world. they’ll be fine.

i “boycotted” them the moment 1/2 the cost manufaturers entered the fray.

I am very intuitive… I can totally see a manufacturer that supplies goods to the fishing/hunting industry, (overpriced “look at me” coolers) and how it ties into IDO… after all IDO is designed as a website for Fisher and Hunter people… Heck they even have a Shooters Test Bench Forum. I am trying to figure out why a business that is losing market share, would cut ties to a group that was helping kids and promoting their products while they did it ??? That is more confusing to me than this thread.

Hopefully this is the last political post before open water fishing. I’d like to see the flames get a little higher though.

Good emotional talking point. So the NRA will no longer help kids as these coolers were so important to kids? Its good the NRA does things like this but bad to use these charity events as a weapon. SHAME ON YOU NRA, SHAME ON YOU.
Why is it so important to know why? My guess it doesn’t have anything to do with a kid or parent getting a cooler.

Yes, when I think NRA the first thing springs to mind is “helping kids.”

There is also a general discussion under the Hunting Forum, but this thread does’t belong there either as it’s just another thinly-veiled political rant. Yawwwwwn.

MOST topics are welcome. Posts of political or religious nature will be deleted.

Back to the madness. It appears the NRA jumped the gun on this one. They arent perfect. Ill bet it costs them a lawsuit. Now if somehow we could combine yeti’s need for more business making plastic coolers with the need to remove the massive plastic garbage islands floating around the worlds oceans??????

I try to avoid these “playground dust-ups” on this forum but this comment made me chuckle. lol

But on the serious side, reminds me that what you post or comment is not always forgotten…even if you think it should have been forgotten. ???

It appears YETI made a terrible PR move and now they are back peddling as fast as they can… saying they dumped a program that affected other organizations… such as ?? Either way, YETI can deny to sell coolers to the NRA under any circumstances they want and NRA members and others can choose not to buy the over priced preppy coolers… you don’t have to be a professor at Fresno State to enjoy the 1st amendment.

    – Van runs people over in Toroto- guns are a problem
    – YETI still sells to companies who make Vans

… what was the point again ?

Back peddling? I suppose the NRA thought they would continue to get all their Yeti coolers for the banquets for manufacturers cost after they wrote the deal with ORKA? Shows how much the NRA cares about The Friends of the NRA when they don’t even tell them about the discontinuation of the discount.
