He could have easily done it without Costner… to me , he wasn’t even really a main character the last few seasons. There were so many story lines they could have went with.. the Wolf collar, the land struggles, the pipeline, the girlfriend is pregnant after he dies, Beth beating the poop out of people, Casey and more visions… etc… etc. Sheridan is no Louie L’Amour.

Finally watched the last episode last night. I liked the series from beginning to end, although it definitely went downhill particularly the last season. This season is entirely at Costner’s feet, imo, and Sheridan featured himself so much as a middle finger to Costner’s ego ruining one of the greatest characters of all time. I’d bet my last dollar Sheridan had an entirely different script for this season, and after years of accommodating Costner (he’s the reason 5 seasons took 8 years), and negotiating with him, said screw it, we can’t wait any longer, let’s wrap it up. And since we can’t wrap it up how I’d planned, I’m going to do it in a way to pi$$ Costner off as much as possible. And I can’t blame a guy for casting supermodel Bella Hadid as his GF either rotflol . Also, I think Sheridan was using it as vehicle for celebrating, promoting and breathing life into the cowboy world, from featuring authentic real life cowboy’s to putting a TON of great music on to just romanticizing all the horse work. Well that and a way to fund buying the 6666, which is another offshoot coming that I am looking forward to.

I really enjoyed the whole show. Yea the last season’s episodes didn’t have as many scenes that made you cuss involuntarily or end with as many cliffhangers. But, overall it was a great show. They kept calling the last episode, the season finally, not the series finally.

I’ll watch the final season of 190x something (the one with Harrison Ford) just because I want to see the Spencer character open a can of whoopa$$ when he arrives, then i’m done…

Beth and Rip will be the main’s in the next series. Yellowstone will go away and it will be called something different

I think the last season was as good as it could be. I’ve been watching Landman lately and that is quite entertaining.

    Jamie’s demise was long overdue.

    Jamie’s demise was long overdue.

It was so predictable that I almost thought they may pull a total plot twist and somehow Beth would not end up killing him and he would not end up at the train station. But no, just as expected. Like i said, he got off easy !

Lioness, Landman and Tulsa King are all good Taylor Sheridan shows.
I am looking forward to the next episode of 1923. Spencer is definitely going to roll some heads. I am curious if his wife Alex makes it to America.

I like Yellowstone also. Found a new series recently. On Netflix, is called Landman. Good stuff.
