1997 Yar-craft 1678 Backtroller – boat is a 9 out of 10 for its age. Solid floor, solid transom, very good carpet. New AGM starter battery 1 year ago, 2 new trolling motor batteries this Spring. 3 Years ago, the following was bought new for the boat:

-Yamaha 60 HP 4 stroke/EFI with VTS trolling handle (approx 80 hours now)
    -New Shoreland’r bunk trailer
-Two new Springfield boat seats, 1 new casting seat
    -$8,995

If you are interested in the electronics, they are available for the following additional:
-Hummingbird 998 side imaging unit ($500)
-Minnkota Terrova 80 lb iPilot Link remote & foot pedal (Spot-lock, Follow the Contour, etc) $700
    -Or both for $1000

This is an excellent and well-maintained boat in great overall condition. Yar-crafts are long known for their ability to handle rough water, track/troll flawlessly. This boat works excellent in smaller waters and rivers, and I have had it out several times on large bodies of water like Rainy, Waubay, etc. One of the best and most versatile 16 foot tiller boats ever made.

For anyone thinking about a glass boat, don’t let the age scare you away. I have a 2000 YarCraft 1785 DC, always garage kept and well maintained, and still a very solid boat. With a practically new motor and trailer, frydog62’s asking price is very reasonable….just go and price a new 16 foot glass boat.

If I was looking to downsize from mine, would be all over this one. Good luck on the sale.

To second what z-man said my current boat is a 1993 skeeter. I just put a new motor on it two years ago and I couldn’t be happier with the performance. Everything in the boat has held up great!
