Having issues starting boat. Seems if I move gear level back and forth can find sweet spot and will start. Seems to be getting worse.

So I think it is most likely neutral safety switch. So I located switch and it has 2 wires going into it. I cut switch out and wired wires together by passing the switch but it did not work.
Wired switch back in and it starts again but need to wiggle shifter to get it to start? Is there more then 1 safety switch? If it was a bad switch should have wiring it to itself work? Thanks in advance for your time.

What year and HP?I am sure that is the only one on the tiller models. Not sure on method to bypass?32$ part and pretty straightforward replacement.Part also fits many years tiller models.

It’s 90 hp and a 2005 model 4 stroke. I have no problem buying a new neutral switch but not if it does not help. Was just checking if the way I bypassed switch should have worked
    Thank for your relies

Only if the safety requires a closed circuit. It could be that the circuit opens when the shifter is in neutral and closes when it is not. If that is the case, then you can’t just remove it, it has to be replaced.
