Anybody running a wx2190 with 250hp yamaha. I’m wondering how these boats would perform with that size motor. Seems people tend to put 300hp on this hull

I just picked up a 2017 WX2190 with the 300 Yamaha. I looked for at least 6 months before buying and I can say I didn’t see any late model (I was only looking at 2016-17) WX2190’s with a 250 on them.

Maybe some of the early years (2013) you could find one as that was a faster hull.

You can find my report on my trip to Rainy this past fall in the Skeeter boat sub-forum here. The 300 performed great and I was just shy of 4 mpg (3.97 I believe) for the trip in mixed running and 50+ gallons used.

    Good luck!

Same I have seen only a handful with 250 4s as power option. That’s why I was asking )

I have read your post, made me want the boat even more LOL!

This one has 500 hours mostly trolling, not sure how good that is for a big motor to be at low rpms that frequently.

Constant low speed trolling *can* be bad for the big 4 strokes. Those hours wouldn’t concern me on that engine but I’d make sure you have it inspected before a purchase.

LOL, That wasn’t my post, but it was the post that pushed me over the edge also. I have a 2014 WX 2060 sitting in the garage that I am super excited to get to use next summer. Good luck with your search.

Yeah, that is definitely the hardest part to figure out. A decent used one came up last fall and I had a heck of a time making the decision to pull the trigger, but I don’t think I will regret it.

Actually, I have driven that boat with a 250 SHO. It will work just fine as long as it is propped right. Expect 3-4 mph less top end, and resale will be a factor most likely.
