I just bought a 2017 WX2190. It has the Yamaha 300 4 stroke and Atlas jack plate. No trim tabs. I ran it for the first time the other day. I did not have much time but I did notice that when I was at full throttle and trimming the motor (I obviously hadto see how fast it goes) the boat pulled to the right quite a bit when I got toward the max trim level. I tried with the jack plate all the way down and at a couple other positions and it didn’t matter. Any suggestions?

Try adjusting the zinc trim tab on the motor. It’s the fin back of the prop on the bottom of the cavitation plate. It’s there to counter the steering effect from the prop rotation.

Yeah I was told that by a friend. He said a small adjustment goes a long way. I will give it a shot thanks!

how fast and your thoughts on the boat

I’ve only had her out for a couple hours by so far I like it. Ran a 2006 2050 for 10 years an it was great boat!

Oh and she only did about 51 mph. My 2050 with the 250 did max about 54. They ain’t built for speed that’s for sure but that’s ok with me. If I am in 3 foot waves no need to push it. I don’t tournament fish anyway. The boat can take more abuse than my 43 year old body.

You probably can’t go wrong either way. Warrior makes a nice boat. The 2190 is a big boat. Tons of room it’s like a dance floor in there. I stuck with Skeeter because for 10 years mine was good to me…Yamaha was awesome for 10 years too not one problem.

Is this a new boat? I have a 2013 2190 that will go 52 to 53 with my 4 blade prop and hit 55 to 56 with my 3 blade and that’s with almost full of gas and gear and 500 lbs of passengers. I don’t have a jack plate just the setback that came with boat.

It’s a 2017 I bought it used. Maybe the 2017 is bigger or heavier than a 2013 I do not know. Prop is obviously another variable. That was my first experience with it. After I bought it I had my 2006 ZX2050 parked next to it in the garage for a couple weeks. The size difference between the two boats was astonishing I am not surprised at all that even though the 2190 has 50 more horsepower it is slower than the 2050.

I just traded my 2016 WX2060 for a 2018 WX2190. Wow, big difference in the room aboard the 2190. It is a freaking battleship. Got to run it for about 45 minute on a glass flat Lake Erie. I have less than 2 hours on the F300, she is no where near broke in. But she got up to 52mph with out breaking a sweat. I also noticed the boat wanting to pull the right, but mine did this when I got the motor up a little high with the jackplate. 1st boat with a jackplate, so another learning curve. I looked at the Warrior 208, while it is a nice boat, it was the same size as my 2060 was, and seemed to have a bigger bow area. I have heard great things about the Warriors, but my are they proud of them. I am glad I made the move to the WX2190, now to get all of my gear in so I can finish rigging it, and get out and enjoy it.

Congratulations on the new boat! You are right the boat is a big giant battleship! What type/size/pitch prop do you have? Mine pulled right when trimming it up, but at the top end of the range. Still…maxed out at 51 mph and it was only for a moment. Realistically 49 mph felt comfortable. I am definitely suspending judgement until I have several more hours at the helm.

My Lake Erie trip is scheduled to start on April 12. I hope we get some better conditions than we have been seeing in Wisconsin for the last few weeks. We are about to get dumped on by 4-6 inches of snow today and tomorrow. Yuck.

She has the 20″ sws2 on the back of her. I don’t even know what the rpms where. I just hit full throttle for a very short time, saw the 52 on the GPS and got out of it, it did feel like it was still accelerating. I have seen some reports of as fast as 58mph, but that seems to be on slightly older hulls. I primarily fish the great lakes, Erie-St.Clair (99%), so top end is not my primary concern. I will be happy with 52-54mph. 4 guys was a touch tight in the WX2060, I am thinking 4 easy, maybe 5 guys. I do some guiding and that will help with some of my trips.
Looks like the weather should start to straighten out for us after this weekend, we canceled Walleye camp this weekend. You may have timed it perfectly. The females we are seeing, the eggs are still real tight, not all loose like they are ready to spawn. The jiggers don’t seem to be hammering like they should. Weird year so far. They may hit the reefs and blow and go. We had that a couple of years ago, seemed like they all spawned in about 2 days. That is what I love about Walleye fishing, just when you think you got figured out, you actually understand just how much you have to learn. Good luck next week.
