Where would be a good place to mount a Helix 10DI Transducer to get the 2d reading while on plane? Skeeter glassed in a 2d transducer and did not include temp. The dealer mounted the DI ducer above the step so I would have temp and DI reading but that means I have no depth reading above 7mph. Then they tried the Y cable so I would have 2d from the glassed in ducer but said the Y cable doesn’t work with DI only SI transducers. Dealer called Humminbird and they confirmed this about the Y cable. Now they have to mount it under the step and use just the DI transducer only. So now I will have holes in the transom that needs to be fixed also, sure wish the Y cable would work with the DI. Any pics sure would be great or any other ideas, thanks for any help. The bunks stick out far enough that they would knock the transducer off if a person ever loaded wrong, shouldn’t happed with a bunk I would hope?

Nobody has ever mounted a Humminbird DI on a skeeter so that it reads on plane?

Hey 4buck, sorry I didn’t see this earlier to respond. For one I have rigged hundreds of DI units with a Y cable and never had any issues with it not reading DI but if you don’t want to go that route you will have to move your DI ducer down below the step. If you scroll threw this link there are a couple of pics of a SI ducer in the same spot you will probably have to put your DI. https://www.in-depthoutdoors.com/community/forums/topic/wx-1850-hd-si-transducer/

Thank you for the information, going to order the Y cable and try it myself.

Word of advise, if you are in South Dakota and plan on buying a Skeeter drive to Skeeter Boat Center to spend your money!!! Wish I would have!
