If anyone has an old wood or aluminum pack I would like to get one for a mount project.

    That’s an awesome mount!

But I’d forever be wondering how the tail is showing on a rolled up hide mrgreen

This is more of the style I wanted to go with. I have my grandpa’s old snow shoes I was going to use. So far I have only been able to find aluminum frames and the wood ones are pretty spendy.

I really like the snow shoe one, I’d guess these are quite a bit smaller than a shoulder mount too. Which might get by the wife censor here…. rotflol

I would think anyone with some mild skills could make a wood one that would look old . I’d find a buddy that does some woodwork and go from there.

Buddy of mine did a pack mount a few years ago. Instead of a modern pack, he went rustic. 2 vertical birch branches and a few willow cross members. Looks super rustic and awesome

    Hi
I have an old wooden backframe. It’s been in the family and is probably 1930’s or older. I’ll ask my Dad as it was my Grandpa’s. Willing to let it go.

Thank you Gregg! I did get my hands on an old aluminum that I think will fit the build.

I believe it. I’m on the lookout for old water skis for a project or two, but everyone thinks their old junk skis are “vintage” and worth way more than I’m willing to pay.

Go to northern WI during garage sale season they are a dime a dozen. We may have some in the attic at our cabin if I remember I will look next time I am up.

I believe it. Unfortunately, here in the metro, people frequently want $50-100 for them.

Awesome! Let me know if you do. I’d really appreciate it.
