Called a few places, getting the same answer everywhere. Looking for a new Left handed Remington 12 gauge 870 express combo (with fully rifled slug barrel and smooth barrel) for my son. They don’t have any don’t know when they are going to get any. I’d consider a good used one. Let me know if you find one on a shelf somewhere.

    Thanks, Drifter.

I shoot lefty and have spent my whole life shooting right handed guns, so it can be done but good on you for looking out for the little man. I look occasionally and lefty guns in specific models/calibers are few and far between, good luck!

I’ve been looking for one for my son as well. He’s been using my BPS which has the bottom shell eject and the safety is on the top, not down by the trigger. He says the safety is the biggest problem when it’s down by the trigger.

You wanna know real discrimination? Be a left hander in the gun world. Handguns aren’t so bad and many now have ambidexterous controls. Plus you’re holding a handgun away from you’re face. I have several shotguns that are left handed. I have other rifles that are not and I can adapt to the controls but I don’t like hot brass coming back at my face. Plus if you get a major malfunction in the chamber things could get nasty inches from my pretty face!

I actually did a search yesterday for you’re specific gun and could find nothing in stock across the wide www. Everything is hard to come by right now.

I found the gun with a bird barre! Now the guy is looking for a slug barrel for it. I’m not going to say where yet until I have it in my hand.

Another option for you. The safeties on 870s are reversible for left handed shooters. Same with 1100s. Only deal is the shell will still eject the same direction. I know several folks who get by just fine with this set up.

After years of shooting a righty, I bought a left-handed safety for my wife’s 1100 last year. She really liked it. Yes, the shells still fly in front of her face, but the safety is more comfortable to use.
