I’m looking for just a few boxes of 30.30, my son was gifted a winchester model 94 yesterday. We would love to be able to shoot it this season yet.
If any one has any extra laying around I’ll happily purchase or trade for other calibers

I have plenty to spare laying around. Think there are 7 boxes on my dresser right now.

9 boxes on the dresser. 170 grain.

What a great gun to learn with. I love my old Winchester lever gun. I have saved up a ton of ammo for mine. Unfortunately for you mine is the .32 special.

Great Gun. If its a older model one with out a cross bolt safety, Make sure you practice ALOT with him on lowering that Hammer down. Lots of stories of accidental discharge while the hammer slips off the thumb. I had it happen once on my Marlin 336 with the added cross bolt safety. hate to think what would have happened if that secondary safety would not have been there. Warm dry hands is one thing. Cold excited hands are a total different matter. Safety Safety Safety !!!! hope you find some ammo and have fun shooting it.

Thank you for the advice. Running the serial number last night I dated it back to be a 1976 model. Saftey saftey saftey is all I preach and teach. And I will continue to do so.

That is a fantastic gift that he will treasure for many years. My first few deer were killed with a 1952 produced Model 94 that was purchased new by my family, and those are deer that are a little extra special. I’ve shot a lot of deer with newer rifles since then, but I still really enjoy taking that lever gun in the woods once or twice a season.
