Worth the drive tomorrow?

    hey everyone,

Not looking for spots or anything but just wondering if it’s worth the drive from eau Claire to head to everts tomorrow. More worried about finding fishable water and being safe then getting fishing reports. I’m very familiar with the area below the dam but am not sure how to translate the flow rates found online to what it means in terms of real conditions. Basically just looking for whether it is going to be possible to control my boat and jig with current conditions. (Although any reports from today would be happily accepted). Happy to report my findings tomorrow if I hear it’s worth going! Thanks

Fished for 2 hours tonight and managed to catch one sauger, you will be fine.

If you have a Facebook account checkout the Everts page. I can’t post the videos here and those speak louder then my ramblings.

In a nutshell, I didn’t talk to anyone today that didn’t catch fish. In fact a couple of river newbies from St Cloud where down and landed three nice fish. Pretty good for lake fellas for their first time on the river!

21 feet of water or less. One fella was the odd ball that was successful with black, everyone else was taking chartreuse.

Largest fish today (that I saw) was from a young lad with a 5.8 pound walleye and a 10 pound smile!

Seemed like everyone was using a different presentation. Dragging, Dubuque rigs, vertical and pitching all worked at one time or another today.

Minnows or plastics both brought fish into the boat.

Brian, hold the phone sideways when you take video. They look a lot better when you post them.

    Thanks for the update info.

Thanks for the awesome replies everyone! I’m definitely headed out in a few hours! Will report! Glad to see kids with the biggest fish.

Tyler, I saw your post before and wish I could take you. I promised a couple friends who don’t get out often a spot already and am out of room for tomorrow. If there’s any chance you have Tuesday free I will also be fishing that day. Would be able to pick you up Tuesday if your boss feels guilty about cancelling and gives you a day off.

Again, thanks for the replies. Got out for a couple hours and found half a dozen healthy saugers and a few dinks. All releases. Unfortunately, trolling motor issues forced me off the water. Third copilot I’ve gone thru since last year. Not impressed.

All fish caught dragging 3 ways upstream wherever I could find some slower water.

Hey just thought I’d throw this out there! I’m upgrading to a terrova 112 and will be selling my 101 60″ I pilot! This has been an awesome motor! I have a friend of mine upgrading to the auto deploy so I’m buying his 112! So if your interested in a terrova I have one coming up for sale!

I would be but I only have a 16.5 foot boat. I can handle a 24 v system but not a 36. Thanks for looking out though. Plus a 101 would throw people out of my boat I think:-)

We were out on Saturday and only caught 3 sauger, with the biggest being about 13″ (miles from the scour hole coffee ) and one big carp. Pretty slow imo…
